Would make sense as 2nd marking period grades are being finalized around now which would make him eligible.

Ranked #2 in NJ as 160 as per NJ.com, #1 at 160 per Flo, and #1 at 160 per Jersey Wrestling

Finished 8th at Beast this year at 160

Finished 4th in the state last year at 132.

He just dropped to 152 and is ranked #2 at 152 in New Jersey by Wrestling Full Circle(who has the best rankings IMHO). He did not want to cut weight this year(like years past so he wrestled at 160 3/4's of the year).

Thanks for the insight. Possible showdown with Weaver coming this year then. Should be interesting to see.

I liked Full Circles rankings but I'm not paying for Rofkin or another service so I don't have access to them anymore.

4th as a junior at 132

8th as a sophomore at 126

Did not place at 106 as a freshman but had a good record (38-8) at an absurdly loaded class (Anthony Clark, Alvarez, Kayal, Minnino, Gutierrez, Bierdumpfel, Cedeno, Babin, Klinsky, Composto, Zimmerman, Bell, Pepe, and Messina all wrestled at 106 that year. Insane.)

Pleasant surprise

Also for what it’s worth, I’ve heard of another possible commit in the near future from a source pretty close to the wrestler. Shore conference middleweight who has a decent chance to place in states this year. Would likely be for little to no scholarship money and he’d likely only be a depth guy at Rutgers though.

Weaver is definitely not a lock for the finals with an instate loss already. He needs to make those adjustments to make the finals in AC.

I’d like to see weaver drop to 45 think he will be stronger at that weight. Prob not cutting anything at 52

Agreed.

Weaver seems a bit over-matched physically at 152 currently so he certainly isn't a lock for anything at this point. He is a truly a wildcard, especially given his wrestling style if he can't finish moves against stronger opponents. If he doesn't mind cutting to 145, he could easily run the table with his skill set.

He’d probably be stronger at 145 but there’s three studs in that weight class between Zargo, Sement, and Troczynski

There are obviously great wrestlers in every weight class so I should have worded it differently. I think his best chance to win this year is at 145 because he is as talented as almost anyone in the state but physically he is giving up an edge especially against top tier wrestlers. He most likely wins it all last year at 138 if he didn't run into a dominate Aragona.
