Last couple of games...not been A game

Game against Indiana they didn’t put up the basket twice that we scored

Couple of times they didnt reset the shot clock well ...

And this our own home scorekeeper

Worse...and i need to watch the end of the game ...thar 1.2 Sedonds took was a long time to expire for what was allowed transpired after the player touched the ball ...and get off the shot

I think you had as many brews at me today, but, yes, that 1.2 felt like 2.5

It was bad at Friday night's wrestling match as well. I counted a point that didn't make it on the scoreboard twice and multiple times forgetting to start the clock. I felt the same way after today's game.

I believe the Nebraska guy caught the ball and took at least dribbles before hoisting that shot up before the buzzer...all in 1.2 seconds. It seemed he had about twice that time.

I felt the same Shack

Also...how is it possible that our announcer still can't say RUTGERS. He says ROCKERS more than half the time.

Get someone who can actually say Rutgers please.

Pet peeve of mine. The woman on the Rutgers commercial during B1G games says “Ruckers”. It’s our own freakin commercial!

We were helped on Geo's corner 3 against Indiana on a lonnnnnnnng 1 second shot clock.

Wasn't that against Minnesota last Sunday, or did he hit a 3 against IU that I'm forgetting? I won't soon forget the thunderous throwdown in the IU game, however.

Nj.com has a video up on their main page of Geo's shot from several angles...following his shot same video also has baseline video of the last second heave from Nebraska...you can see clearly clock started half second or so late. Guy also caught the ball right in front of scorer's table you would think had a good view.

I almost always notice that stuff, too, and was screaming at all of them in the IU game, lol. And agree it was a long 1.2 seconds.

I think it was longer. It was a full second from when the ball left the shooter's hand and the red end of game light came on. Add to that the time to inbound and take a couple dribbles.

The clock operator
at the RAC does not pay close enough attention to the game. Always chatting with people around him.

not denying that was a loong 1.2 but also just to be clear the clock doesn't start until touched on inbound not released. The other thing nobody is mentioning is that it sure looked like a 5 sec. inbound violation or REAL close that wouldn't be called unless fragrant there. (hell , I didn't even see the refs counting).

Yup. Missed putting points up and twice didnt start the clock at beginning of 2nd period bouts.

Points you can deal with there being a delay correction, but forcing the wrestlers to stop a couple seconds in to starting from non-neutral positions is just a joke.

I was counting it from after the inbounder released the ball and it touched the receiver hands.

The clock starting is controlled by the referee on the court by a pack on their belt. The clock is stopped by the referee by their whistle, which has a microphone to hear it blow and is transmitted to the clock. If you ever get to a game early, you will see each referee calibrate their whistle/pack.

yesterday I was yelling at the kids running the clock at my son's game. They let 3 second run off at the end of the half.. team had 9 seconds to go full court. Wound up being 12, luckily they didn't score. EDIT: this is HS, and there was an adult there too. not some 10 year olds.. these kids were like 17 and not paying attention

This is why i refuse to do the scoreboard at my 12 year old daughters games

After reading your post ...I thought this was only used in ncaa tournament games and I did some research

I stand corrected that they use this technology during the big ten confrence games as well...so the game clock operation is the responsibility of the official.

However...as the read more about the technology, it is based on the syncs of the sound whistle to the pack...which is outstanding to get the clock stopped in reals time

Howeve...this has nothing to do with the Start of the clock, which has not whistle, and is done by the official hitting the button on his pack, and subject to human error

In this case...the ref then let that damn clock start waaaaaay to late at the end of the game. That was waaaay more than 1.2 seconds from when the ball was touched by the in bound pass until the horn went off...

That’s an official error. Typical.

Still doesn’t excuse the RAC operator for not able to get the shot clock right ...and worse, getting the points on the board for us.

And twice the scoreboard operator during the Indiana or Minnesota game twice screwed us for 2 points. I had to yell at the refs for them to realize and adjust.

And these are our guys manning the clock and scoreboard....lord!

Do officials get paid more for overtime games? That could be a reason to start a clock late where a final shot might tie it up.
