Bingo.. its up for the rest of the team to step up. Guess what? Injuries happen...to most Big 10 school...adapt and survive

The thing is we aren’t like most big ten schools. We have been historically bad since joining the conference. We have never survived and now we are going to try without one of out better players. That’s concerning

This has nothing to do with Hobbs and is simply about the opponent being immaterial to an injury.
So he doesn't sign off on the teams we schedule? Pikiell is doing all the scheduling in addition to his coaching responsibilities?

No,that's why you don't play a D2 during the regular season.

This reminds me of Mike Teel's thumb injury against Norfolk State in the 3rd game of the 2007, which was a real setback, likely spelling the difference between defeating UMd, Cincy, and UL at least that season. Those with a hurricane win over UConn would have meant a BE championship and a BCS bowl.

Let's hope this doesn't have the same impact.

I just left a woman who spent 24/7 whining and drinking half empty glasses of water. Stop it. It's part of the game. Now we'll see what kind of coaches and team we have.

Big whiff tonight 56. Time to go back to bed.
If McConnell and Young can give 80% of what they did tonight, then I think they could hold down the fort until baker is back.... hopefully speculation of 3 weeks is accurate and it's not longer term. Good news if any is that it is his off hand.

We have to go .500 during league play. IF we can survive for a while without Geo, it could be a big boost for late season run. He would be well rested and other guys get more minutes and are forced to step up and win without relying on Baker.

Problem is back end of the schedule is brutal. Michigan (2x), Maryland (2x), @Purdue, @OSU, @Wisconsin, @Penn State, Illinois and NW at home is our last ten. We need a quick start. Going to be tougher.

I'm certainly no Hobb's apologist, but who is the real pansy here. Maybe its the guy like you who bails on his team at the first sign of trouble?

Contrary to reports in the Star Liar and NJ.com and internet trolls, all of whome have certainly been no friend to RU Athletics......the overall state of RU Athletics has not been this good in years. With Schiano returning and now Gleeson & much larger budget for assistants, progression of Men's hoops, performance of Woman's hoops, Wrestling, Womans soccer etc, athletic building constuction and increased fundraising / efforts. Hard to argue with results and people like you so filled with hate and constantly need a baad guy to complain about.

Aaand the seasons over

You can thank Hobbs for scheduling like a panzy. He can't even run basketball the right way.

Hey feel free to be a lemming and pretend he is good for our athletic department. The man is walking trash. Ive taken dumps that I respect more than Pat Hobbs.

I thought our season was over after the baker injury. It may still very well be when we play someone not named Nebraska. Not the only one chump.

Congrats! You're a self proclaimed member of the "Throw in the Towel" Gang. Grandma must be so proud when she calls you to come up from the basement for a ham sandwich.

Nothing with him actually doing basketball activity but his Instagram story from three hours ago showed him at the practice facility, in the area with the courts.

Yes. College coaches set the games and athletic directors get the contracts signed. That is how I believe it is done. @Russ Wood or @BKIn118 or @DeAnteMitchell may be able to confirm.
That is how it should be done. At many schools the non-conference scheduling duties is the responsibility of the associate head coach or No. 1 assistant (if the No. 1 assistant doesn't hold that title).

However, I've spoken to coaches that have told me it doesn't work that way at their schools. There response is something along the lines of "there are people in our athletic department who are involved in our scheduling who have no business being involved in our scheduling."

My guess is that the staff has Geo doing cardio work and ball handling (right hand only obviously) every day. Maybe even some drills where he shoots while sitting in a chair 5-7 feet from the basket.
