We can defend with the best of them, we are not going to be pushed around, and if our shots fall, this is a tough team to beat. We can have a nice run in the tournament if we keep playing like last night. the next five game will determine what type of program we have. Upstream Red Team.

Good find. Funniest part was the Rivals guy's incredulous reaction when she said she "could see RU going as far as the Elite Eight." She's more optimistic than RutgersAl, lol.
This was my reaction...

Dude used the word “emasculated”

seems a bit harsh...sometimes some teams are just better...we are finally one of those!

Nebraskans are some of the friendliest folk you will ever meet...lived there five years and was astonished at how friendly they always were.

I attended an A&M football game in Lincoln where we got our asses kicked in the most awful of ways...expecting abuse by the locals, all I got was free food, booze and encouragement...it was almost a bit much. Not one single “taunt” or “you suck” or “haha!” or “go home”

It left an impression...of course home at the time was Omaha so it wasn’t too long a drive.

When we were in Lincoln for the football game a guy in overalls came up to me and asked where’s Rutgers, I said it’s in New Jersey, he said huh, so I said it’s by New York City. He said “oh yea that’s right, I knew it was by the beach.”

puts it in perspective

It is a flyover state afterall so you can only expect so much.

In all seriousness though, UNL has great fans and I'm sure they certainly took notice last night. I think Hoiberg will do good things with that program, he just needs a couple years.

I get it that Hoiberg wants to run his system of running and hoisting up 3’s but at some point you need to adapt to your personnel. Their offense was painful to watch.

Thing is, I’m not sure what more they could have done. Dribble drive? They tried that, and every single time they were stifled by our perimeter defense and rotations. Dump the ball down low? Uh, their 6-6 guys wouldn’t have stood a chance against Myles.

If they weren’t going to be able to get out and run — which we prevented by our offensive rebounding and ability to get back in defense — their ONLY hope was to just catch fire from deep. Except our close outs and rotations were so good that they rarely got open looks.

I listened for a minute and he was driooling all over us. We went years being laughed at. This was a delight to hear

I actually thought he was being fairly dismissive of how good RU really is. He was shocked I thought at the result. Here is a novel concept, how about the fact that Nebbie shot so poorly was because they’ve not faced a team with our length and athleticism and were caught off guard early. RU took their hearts on the first run.

I think its easy to assume after a great performance we are that team now - like that is the new normal. But that is when everything can fall apart. Just think about what happened after Iowa last year. Two dud performances in a row to end the season.

Or think about us after beating SHU 81-49 in '98. People assumed we'd passed them by. But of course they won the game at SHU a month later.

He was dismissive. Newsflash, Nebraska has less history in basketball than we do.

It's a little different this year. Already, Rutgers has been consistent against quality teams such as Stephen F. Austin, Seton Hall, Wisconsin, and even Michigan State on the road. This team, without its best player, destroyed a team on the road. That's not happening any other time in a long time.

I think you can take the heart out of a team of transfers easier than you could a team Iike Rutgers with so much cohesiveness and comraderie and commitment to each other.

Although Snow is over the moon with the elite 8 thing, I think the guy showed that he knows what's happening and what's not happening on the court.
Rutgers, like the BIG show guys said last night, is still something of a mystery to a lot of people. Keep in mind that fans tend to think everyone else is aware of what is going on.
If this team shows up against PSU, you will hear a lot about us being the team we are all hoping we are.

Not sure we’re Elite 8 material yet....(her words...)

I stopped after she said she "could see Rutgers going as far as the Elite Eight".

She's my new favorite sports talking head... thou I can see them going (assume Berman's voice) All - THE - WAY : it's 2020, we all have better vision!

One thing about last night that shouldn’t be dismissed is that Nebraska had a lot of open 3 pointers and they just missed. Our dehebse was good but not the level that it’s been in the last few games. We still crushed them but they had many open looks.

Are you sure about that? I don't recall NU having a lot of open looks.

Nothing painful about it at all! I watched it again from beginning to end, but I know what you mean...

I could be wrong but it seemed like it? Compared to a game like SFA, they couldn’t get a good shot off!

It seemed to me they got more open looks when we had already blown it open...
