LINCOLN, Neb. (1/3/20) – Rutgers junior guard Geo Baker will be sidelined indefinitely with a left thumb injury.

“Our focus is upon Geo receiving the best care and treatment to make a healthy return this season,” said Rutgers Head Coach Steve Pikiell. “His absence will be another challenge for our program, and we have every confidence our team will rise to meet it.”

Baker has started all 13 games at point guard. He leads the Scarlet Knights in minutes (30.4), free throw percentage (84.0), assists (52) and steals (23), while placing second in scoring (11.5) and blocks (12).

Knew nothing good at all would come out of this game. Nothing. And now season is on the brink! So damn disgusted. I saw Baker with ice pack on his hand on 2nd half and sensed bad news

Damn, even if he comes back against Northwestern at the RAC on Feb 9th, he’ll miss 10 games.

We have three guys (McConnell, Mulcahy, and Young) who need to step up. Nobody will be Geo, but we can still be a capable team.

Harper will have to be more aggressive. Hope we can do it. At least it's not Myles, there would be no way to replace that.

There's a lengthy list of B1G players who have missed games.

Minnesota's starting guard missed the last 3 games.

Ohio State's Kyle Young is out after his appendix was removed Sunday.

Purdue's Haarms missed a couple of games with a concussion.

Iowa lost Bohannon to hip surgery.

Michigan's Livers is out with a groin for a few weeks.

This is a shortened list but every program loses starters and it's on the collective group of players to rally as a unit.

Mulcahy, Jacob Young and Caleb need to step up big time. Not happy at all about the meaningless Caldwell game. What good comes out of it? All I wanted was no injuries.
