I know a few with far less that got admitted********. It takes at 3.8 & 1250 SAT to get into Rutgers. It's definitely not the quality of the student that's dragging the school's rankings.

Smart play if so. Unless he's going on to law or medical school, a better name is needed. Who is recruiting at RU and for what? Are the top wsll street firms, engineering, etc etc. Dont believe they offer separate recruiting events per school any longerAm I mistaken, but aren't you leaning against Rutgers Honors College for your own kid? If correct, why is that?
Not based on 1600 right?Average SAT score for this year’s freshmen is a 1320.
And there are a few with far less that got into MIT. So, what's you point?I know a few with far less that got admitted
No, it's based on 1600 sport. Get with the times, and get off your anti-RU schtick. Not based on 1600 right?
To be quite clear, top Wall Street firms DO recruit at Rutgers. I’ve been on the recruiting teams for two top firms and have been interviewing on campus for years.Smart play if so. It is major specific. A lot of the comments we heard about UCLA's computer science program indicated it was a bit behind the times. Plus, there was only an option to go through the School of Engineering at UCLA. RU offered opportunities to obtain a Computer Science degree through the School of Arts and Sciences (Letters and Science at Berkeley).Good to hear. I wish RU had UCLA’s academic profile now. That school has a low acceptance rate compared to RU.
Sport...u my dad?No, it's based on 1600 sport. Get with the times, and get off your anti-RU schtick.
Not for front office. Back office sure.To be quite clear, top Wall Street firms DO recruit at Rutgers. I’ve been on the recruiting teams for two top firms and have been interviewing on campus for years.
Point is obvious sportAnd there are a few with far less that got into MIT. So, what's you point?
Point is it happens everywhere for a variety of reasons, sport. And people like you will use it to sack Rutgers, but overlook it at others. Sad.Point is obvious sport
Legal and Compliance, IT, Operations, and some IB roles. All can result in very good careers with excellent compensation. Not for front office. Back office sure.
Lol no...you just want to think rutgers us an apple in weeds but its not. Wish it were but its not.Point is it happens everywhere for a variety of reasons, sport. And people like you will use it to sack Rutgers, but overlook it at others. Sad.
If UCLA is a **** show, that makes us a lower than whale **** show.Surprised in that UCLA has been a **** show
Harvey Schwartz, the former #2 at Goldman, was a self admitted C student at Livingston in the 80’sNo tier 1 banks or firms are hiring for front office from rutgers. Cantor was the last
No advisory practice in deloitte nor any from top consulting, accounting sure but bcg, deloitte, mckinsey no
I could go on but what is being recfuited matters
I spent a career on wall street, know it well. As i said, no front office as that is no longer recruited on campus unfortunately. 2 yrs after i went through cantors trading program, they were done with rcLegal and Compliance, IT, Operations, and some IB roles. All can result in very good careers with excellent compensation.
Again. Reading is fundamental.Harvey Schwartz, the former #2 at Goldman, was a self admitted C student at Livingston in the 80’s
Lots of niceties at ucla plus great alumni networkIf UCLA is a **** show, that makes us a lower than whale **** show.
Agree...I'll move on. Yah Gleeson!!!!!And this thread goes into the off topic category
Nothing against Rutgers. I'm pretty anti-Honors College at every school, as is he. The kid wants to study civil engineering. That's rigorous enough without the extra classes on whatever the school wants their really smart kids to take.Am I mistaken, but aren't you leaning against Rutgers Honors College for your own kid? If correct, why is that?
SPEND and WIN. What a GREAT IDEA.I read one tweet although I don't think it was any real source that RU was offering 900K to Gleeson.
Not in the last 3-5 or so years, unless they did a year at Kean and transferred in.I know a few with far less that got admitted
No. New coach and a new day at Rutgers. 2 years into the Chip **** Show. See the difference? If UCLA is a **** show, that makes us a lower than whale **** show.
We can connect offline if you want, and your son can talk to my son. Not Civil Engineering, but Computer Science. He knows engineering majors. Obviously, we are very high on the Honors College. My son is took a course in Caribbean History to fulfill some Honors College requirement, and it was one of his favorite classes. Absolutely zero impact on his math and computer science coursework.Nothing against Rutgers. I'm pretty anti-Honors College at every school, as is he. The kid wants to study civil engineering. That's rigorous enough without the extra classes on whatever the school wants their really smart kids to take.
I get your point. That said, there are many highly successful MDs at the top WS firms who are RU alums. They may not have gone thru the front door but they got there.Again. Reading is fundamental.

Do you have any 300+ OL recruits you could recommend to the football team? :Sly:I work for a top 10 defense company and Rutgers is a "partner" school. We send recruiting teams there regularly and I just interviewed three candidates for a mechanical engineering internship for the summer.
I’ve seen a number of sources indicate that it was Gundy’s offense and Gundy was making the calls.So..
doesn’t look like the OSU faithful are too upset at Gleeson’s pending departure.
Good. We’ll happily take him.So..

Well a lot of them really like Monken if that rumor happens to come true but even if not if I were them I wouldn't be either.So..

Wait. So you are saying Rutgers is lying about the average SAT score of its incoming class? SMDHSport...u my dad?
Not buying it for all the schools at all and intimate knowledge of the school is deep. Nothing anti, just realistic. from alum, ball, teaching, to gelping friendd kids go, have loved RU from day 1 but far more realistic than most here. Kniw too many 1k sat and avg students that go or taught to believe 1300+ avg
You might want to look at the admission profile for this fall. Not based on 1600 right?
Not for NJ that I know of. But we are HQ'd in Florida and they might.Do you also recruit Materials Science and Engineering summer interns? Asking for a friend .......... my son who is looking / applying now.
I’m a mid-level executive at E*Trade. Three years ago I contacted Rutgers Business School to try to get undergrad candidates for summer internships for my group. The response was so bad that I wrote to the dean of the business school to complain. RU has to work harder for opportunities for their students. No tier 1 banks or firms are hiring for front office from rutgers. Cantor was the last
