Actually SHU bearing MD by 4 does not move the needle because they outperformed expectations by on 3 points.

It was more the teams around Rutgers playing bad and us leap frogging teams like Tennessee and LSU

Means nothing if we lose any of the next 3 games prior to Penn State. And Nebraska is improved. Took Indiana to OT at Indiana then beat Purdue.

I just wish fans would only look at out next game. We never seem to learn. If we lose a game some will be ripping RU once again. Just check as there are upsets every single day in college basketball. In the BIG I think 12 teams are 1-1. It is tough to win on the road. Maryland was in the Top 3 and has now lost two in a row. With their talent they should never have lost to SHU with a depleted team but they did.

You do realize that the fans looking at the next game, or looking ahead 7 games, or looking back at previous games, doesn't really have a bearing on the outcome of the next game.

As far as some ripping us after a loss, there are some fans who ride a roller coaster, with euphoric highs after a win and in the depths of despair after a loss. But there are also some negative fans or trolls who only come out to post after a loss.

Now we have fan coach speak

Considering we have been fans a generally crappy team, it’s fun to be interested in this stuff

And honestly, a good coach should be able to use this as motivation. Why do we have to pretend that everyone isn’t looking at it?? The founder of Kenpom was on the podcast Kyk linked recently talking about how all schools now subscribe to the site because they are looked at for the tournament

“Hey Rutgers team...let’s not f*ck up the Lafayette game because if we want to make it into the 40s we have to beat this by 40 points. I hope that’s motivating,” - Coach Pike

Yea. However we got here based on wins and losses. Number 55

Our opponent tomorrow is ranked 180. I don’t subscribe so I don’t know what that means for the spread but I assume we would have to win by 14 or so to hold serve in these rankings

Amazing how starved we all are for these decent rankings, when you consider at #55 on Kenpom we’re still only 12th in our own conference.

Long way to go but trending in the right direction.

Last year Ohio State was the definition of a bubble team and they got into the NCAA tourney as an 11 seed with a final NET ranking of 55, an overall record of 19-14 and 8-12 record in the B1G conference. OSU finished the season at #44 in KenPom after winning one game in the NCAA.

Why are you using last year's conference finish and applying it as a point of reference to this year's computer rankings?

Its what the committee looks at the most

As we settle into league play the few outliers from smaller conferences will drop
