I figured... let's start a new thread...
The men's freestyle tournament will begin on Saturday, December 21st at 11a. It will be streamed on flowrestling.com. The top 5 finishers at each weight will qualify for the Olympic Trials. Nick Suriano (57 kg) hasn't registered as of 12/17. But, John VanBrill is now registered at 74 kg (163 lbs.) Good luck to John and hopefully Nick!

EDIT: 12/17 10am..Flowrestling is reporting that Nick Suriano is now registered.

Spencer Lee registered this week as well but Flo is still expecting Suriano to be the #1 seed (assuming he registers) given his performance at Bill Farrell.

Question SIAP or don’t know. I know Ashnault got hurt at BTS. Is he not healthy enough to wrestle in this? Will he not be going for Olympics this year? Just wondering. Thanks

Warren is an MMA champion. Probably don’t want your wrestling match to turn into a real scrap.

I boxed for a few years, and I would have confidently come up swinging after that, and deservedly so. :Wink: It is a punk move in a WRESTLING match, off of a handshake in a WRESTLING match.

Everyone today claims that they're, "MMA," until they get punched (not struck, as they say in MMA) from someone who knows how to do it. :Wink: I'd like to see him take a PUNCH from some of the folks that I knew.

Unless this is a different Joe Warren, the guy is a former Bellator champion. It’s certainly a classless move but the guy knows how to take a punch.

As I said, MMA fighters don't punch like boxers do.

And, yeah, it's the same Joe Warren.

Tough loss for NS in the semis. He had Gross in the bag. Gross went on to win easily in the finals against NATO. So on paper, NATO finishing ahead of Nick appears skewed. Either way, cant wait to see how this weekend plays out.

Unfortunately... It's the paper that counts... Doesn't really matter... That weight class is so loaded... No easy matches...

74 Kg Mehki Lewis vs Chance Martsellar a terrific one.

86 Kg Aaron Brooks vs Sammy Brooks, interesting , the young star at PSU vs the solid vet who used to be at Iowa

125 Kg. Daniel Kerkvliet vs Nevills is a pretty good one too.
Kerkvliet has looked tremendous so far.

Does Nevills go back to Fresno State with his brother after this season?
Hard to believe he will stay here for 4 years as a potential backup.
