Disagree. May not have had huge participation but you could still see it. It was cool. Certainly all the students had it going on.
The 200s and student section looked pretty good. Big fail by the 100s though
No, It was NOT a total fail. Yes, it could have been better, but it was kind of cool.

100s were pretty clueless. Some of people’s phones were not connected or working. The app was hung up in “waiting “.

Maybe they need to let people in 100’s borrow cell phones?
Tbh, I had no idea what to expect when they said to download an app. By the time I saw the point of it, it was just like "ahhh, whatever, it's too late." Lol. Next time, I'll try it out.
How can you download an appetizer? You can't send food through the internet - this isn't Willy Wonka, you know. :>)
The app wasn’t hung up on waiting ...it was telling you that it’s waiting for the time to begin the show. Then it went to a 20 second countdown to begin the show. Admittedly, the waiting message did confuse me at first.
The app was easily downloaded and worked just fine. It's not rocket science and simply not a big deal. Great game, towel handouts were nice and coach Camp was hanging out greating people upon entry.

my wife and I set up our phones in section 200.... when it came time to activate, both her phone and mine had lost our seat location that we plugged in a few minutes before..... I would guess that if everyone had their phones linked in, and with proper seat location, it might have done something more

the 100 level is older and less savvy to doing stuff like this with their phones, in the old days they would just ask the crowd to take their lighters out
I had the app loaded on two phones and neither worked. I had the "waiting" message on one for a long time and the countdown on the other, which at zero, then also turned into the waiting message.
Please have them post the video for us. As I was in the last row of 200 perhaps looking down at 100 made it look so weak. Maybe looking up made it look good.
I sit in the front row of the 300 level. Many, many people had the app open and it wasn't working, including for me. It was just stuck on "Waiting"
Waiting was the correct mode, but why it didn't engage who knows. I ALWAYS have issues with the internet at the RAC in spite of all those routers in the rafters.
its not that, i just think they have been used to winning and the raucous atmosphere and all in that comes with it.
Love to hear that about Camp.
Wish our football coaches could continue doing this for as many games as they can.

I didn’t participate because I never bring a phone to any ballgame.I guess I might have done if Rutgers had people assisting folks with their phones. That would have required a lot of staff, though. I thought it looked cool.
Yup. I was expecting like three people in each section to actually do it. But it actually looked decent!
I loaded it on my verizon phone and it kept saying "waiting" before the game and then made the countdown from 1 minute to zero and then did nothing. Not sure why it never went off. NO big deal.

Not clear from the directions was that when the countdown reached zero, you needed to turn your flashlight on in order to participate.
That's not at all how mine worked. It started flashing in its own at like 30 seconds and counted down to zero at which point it stopped.
