Thunderstorms coming by 2Q , I guess that favors Utah’s D.

Nice muddy mess on grass tonight. Don’t get many of those anymore with all the turf now !

Edit....San Fran is getting pounded by rain , Santa Clara is avoiding worst of storm.

Oregon has no chance with two losses. Utah still does but needs OU to lose likely.

Assuming Utah wins:

If #6 OU jumps Utah with a win why wouldn't #7 Baylor jump them with a win?

Does Utah need a blowout to stay ahead of the the OU/Baylor winner?

I think Baylor could but they've also had a bunch of close squeaker games this year and not always against top competition in those narrow wins. Utah has generally put away their weaker competition.

I think OU has an easier time of jumping them though than Baylor. They'll have 2 wins over Baylor and Ok. State...I think that 2nd Baylor win would help their leap frog chances.

See that mobility there by Herbert IMO that's all the mobility a qb needs....doesn't need to be some game breaker like Hurts. He's got just enough mobility to get 5-6 yds, 9yds here and there at times like I've said describing the kind of qb we need....and I think like 90% of qbs or more have that much mobility. Necessity is the good passer not necessarily some home run threat with the legs.

That makes sense.

Of course none of this will matter when Georgia narrowly beats LSU and the playoffs are:
1 OSU
2 Georgia
3 Clemson
4 LSU

Then a chorus for "expanding the playoffs" will be deafening.

Well if UGA wins then there will be 2 SEC teams...I'm hoping that doesn't happen.

BTW just as aside...in addition to the IU OC DeBoer both Oregon coordinators Avalos and Arroyo are mentioned for the Fresno State opening.

Oregon has all the momentum and now field position. Put Utah in a 14-0 hole and force them to be pass first... I like Oregon’s chances. Big possession here.

Big stop to hold them to a FG. That replay review probably helped Utah. I think Herbert would have gotten in with the quick qb sneak on 2nd down. The review slowed down Oregon's momentum and took tempo out of play.

Utah needs to settle down. You can see one team being used to this and the other quite unsettled by the new experience.
Utah was in the PAC12 champ game last year. Oregon hasn't made a PAC12 champ game since Helfrich was there and that was early in his tenure. I don't think any of the Oregon players were even around.

If anyone should not be used to the experience it should be Oregon not Utah lol.

Whoops! Then Utah sucks and the entire PAC12 sucks because they looked better than this.

So put two SEC teams in? Screw it make it 3.

What are you talking about? 1) When LSU beats UGA, UGA won’t be in the playoffs. It will be the winner of Okla/Baylor (Big12). 2) I want the best 4 teams in the playoffs. It doesn’t take Utah getting blown out tonight to realize that they aren’t one of the four best teams.

Oregon is my #2 team, and this so far is their best game of the season. Utah is taking the gas pipe so far but you never know what can happen in the second half. Mixed feelings because I’d like to see Utah make the CFP.

Utah is blowing it. They need one heck of a comeback to have any chance to make the playoffs at this point.

It’s bizarre too that the pac12 has their conference championship on a Friday night with the start time at 5pm locals. It’s bizarre.

TV TV TV and money money money ......as said in the other thread I think game used to be played at higher ranked team’s stadium before they made it a neutral site and tv cares more about east coast eye balls and prime time here.

Looks like the refs missed a personal foul on the recovery of the bad snap. Utah player really drilled the QB who was down with the ball.

Utah’s defense is so overrated. PAC 12 doesn’t deserve to be close to the playoff.
