Yet rumors of gregs talks reopening can be spread without an issue.

It’s a message board..a FREE message boards. There will be plenty of rumors. So long as none are made up, why can’t one post?

Hahaha asinine! They are PAYING HIM TO LEAVE after two seasons at Miss St. This is the worst possible scenario for RU and I do not believe it to be true. He'd be a horrific coach.

what makes you think he’d be a horrific coach? He’s been successful every stop

Its coming from one person on twitter...stop spreading rumors

Why are you guys so worried about this rumor "spreading?"

If it is fake news we'll know in a day or two. If Rutgers and Schiano are already negotiating and they seal a deal we'll also know that and you will be totally and completely exonerated.

Its so weird how you guys are colluding to stop other fans from simply expressing our free speech.

It makes perfect sense. He can wait a year and get a more stable job at a school that cares about athletics.
Of course Hafley is interested. He hasn't even sniffed any head coaching job! He's not going to get anything near a P5 job besides stupid RU until he proves himself at as a lower-level coach.

I'll take Moorehead over Greg. Atleast if Moorehead doesn't work out - you can get rid of him. Sign Greg and you can never get rid of him. He'll leave when he chooses - regardless of the results

Let’s hope we don’t make a hire based on how easy it would be to fire

If this were three days ago I’d agree but with fans and boosters dropping like flies because Schiano wasn’t hired..I’m all in on greg.

If rumors are true. Let’s hope Joe has a plan to reunite the fanbase
As I mentioned earlier in this thread, I can see this being Hobbs' original plan B.

Someone from RU reaches out to Moorhead's people and finds out there is likely to be a separation from MSU and, if so, there is interest by Moorhead in coming here. Hobbs' plan A is to orchestrate the end of the Schiano lobby with his planted "Schiano doesn't want the job" story, followed by plan B, hiring Moorhead. He even told the players earlier this week that he hopes to have a new coach in place by next week, which fits a Moorhead hire.

Then, everything blew up this week for Hobbs on his Plan A.

Why do we have to recycle for Starkville Mississippi? I say NoJoMo.
He is from N Y. I HAVE LIVED IN THE south. I WOULD PAY RU TO BRING ME BACK TO JERSEY. He inherted Fordam
With an 0 and 11 in their last year.
His first year, 6 - 5, then 11-2 then 9-3
I like that more than someone that
Was A high school coach two years ago.

I'm rooting for a Schiano hire, but Moorhead is a damn good coach, great offensive mind. Things do not always work out, sometime are situational, look at Belichick in Cleveland.

The problem is that it is not as simple as whether Moorhead would have been a good choice coming into this search. Hiring him now would have him walk into a no win situation because of what has happened over the last several weeks. He would not get support from a lot of the fans, hs coaches, etc

So that would go for anyone but Gary right?

There is also a rumor that the Schiano deal is done..this is also on twitter.

So again not sure what’s true but it seems like it’s either Greg or Joe..as of now

Can you actually provide some links to these rumors? I would be very interested in seeing this.

Plenty of top coordinators go straight to P5 head coaching jobs. Ryan Day in our own division is the most recent example. Happens in the SEC all the time. Hafley ain't coming.
Truth be told I honestly think he's not ready to be a head P5 coach yet. He should stay at OSU at least another year, maybe 2. I don't know if he's even making the defensive play calls. For all I know Mattison is.

ya he is out at MSU because he's so successful there? Same with Addazio. Why would we want either guy?

Successful as a P5 HEAD COACH? Hahaha. He's been a complete disaster at Miss St. Our opening is for head coach not a coordinator.

He's in his 2nd year at Miss State and 4 of his losses are to Bama, Texas A&M, LSU, and Auburn. He had one WTF game vs. Tennessee. That is not nearly enough to call this year a disaster for MSU.

True. But a loss at home to Ole Miss tonite makes him 5-7 this season. Finebaum says that Moorhead needs the W tonite to keep his job.

Agree, true about anyone not named Greg that we hire, really hoping that it is Schiano. However, if not Schiano, Moorhead is a much superior pick than any other (realistic) alternative that has been offered up on this board.
