Him and Hafley are both intriguing choices.
Intriguing in what way? That neither has the leverage to make RU invest in desperately needed football facilities and stadium repairs (the same stadium football alone paid for that your precious lacrosse team plays in for for free)? Or that neither will be able to command the staff/recruiting budget that Schiano will? Or that after all that has gone down you just want the fun of seeing Pat flip off everyone that matters to the success of Rutgers Athletics?

Nothing is a bigger sign of protest than not going to games. Let them picket in the winter because we got a guy from an SEC school who is highly regarded. That says more about them then Pat.

It's not about whether or not he's a 'good coach'; will he a good fit here? Will he run back to PSU if Franklin leaves?

This is all speculation on your part.

You guys are funny. You act like Pat and the administration has no idea what facilities other schools have and what we need.

Anyone who thinks that is uninformed. At best.

We should be able to play in it for free. Considering a lacrosse donor paid for the stadium we aren’t allowed to play in now.

If JoeMo becomes the choice RU can offer him the same package offered to Greg. Greg has provided the blueprint of where RU needs to invest in facilities. Even if we don’t hire him those recommendations from Greg have value to RU FB.

A quick Moorhead hire if he were let go could be what Hobbs was thinking about when he told the players he hoped to have a new coach named by next week.

A lot has happened since the day he said that, though.

100%. 6 years, $4MM per with increased budgets and facilities improvements. If Schiano is with that, JoeMo definitely is.

...will the big donors back this? Will administration actually commit to it without being forced to?

I see the site owners locked a similar thread on the premium side. Makes me think some folks are trying to keep a lid on this news. Can't help but think where there is this much smoke there is probably some fire...

so hire a guy that didn't have a plan, then give him the well thought out plan of someone not hired.
Sounds like a plan

I locked it until such time it’s reported by mainstream media

And if they won't commit to it for Greg, and Hobbs lobbied against it, he is not offering Moorhead what he wouldn't give to Greg. Unless Joe is stupid enough to buy the empty promises.

I wonder what the perception will be if Moorehead is fired by Mississippi St. and hired by Rutgers shortly afterwords.
I would question why ( leaving Schiano out)
Rutgers went for someone who was fired after only 2 years on the job.

If Moorhead quits for the RU position and isn't making more money than at Miss St,
I'd wonder why he felt the need to leave and if when the going starts looking tough, he looks for places to land before the crash.

That said, doubt he'll be fired or quit and I do think he might turn into a HC top programs might try to poach.

Joe P.

What’s interested is today’s report is Florida State is focusing on Franklin and Franklin expresses interest.

I’ll bet that. I will also bet if Schiano does take the RU job, he will never get another p5 offer
The schiano bet makes no sense but I’ll bet you if Moorhead gets fired his next job isn’t as a p5 head coach (exception being if rutgers hired him).

Wow, squeezing the lemon. Spend the money just not on Schiano!

How do you know he doesn’t have a plan? Ash had a plan.
so he might have a plan, but is it as through as Greg's was?
If so why hand him Greg's plan?

Yes Ash had a plan, lets hope whoever's hired plan is more Schiano-like than what Ash had.

When someone comes in with a well thought out plan that addresses weaknesses and also addresses how they can be fixed, that plan needs to be part of the program and the person that brought that plan into employment negotiations should be considered as someone that can't be ignored.
Especially if he went into a similar situation before and was considered a success.

Please post Greg’s plan and his and let me compare.

Greg’s plan of wanting $100MM in investment isn’t really a plan.
