In the rubble of this season with all of the negativity and disappointments, the thing that really stands out for me is our lowly third string QB.
He absolutely personifies the true athlete. Few, if any, gave him much of a chance to even see the field much less become a starter. In my mind he has already surpassed what's his name as a leader on the field.
I know he left BC because he wanted to be a QB. Fate is certainly a funny thing sometimes and here he is living his dream in a major conference. No matter what, he will be able to say he did it.
I have no idea what the future holds for him in football, but you just know he is going to be a winner in life.

He certainly runs hard and tough and can take the hits. He also made some nice throws yesterday.

He does seem to have a blindspot for defenders when he’s not throwing to a wide open man. If that’s something that can be coached out of him he may have a shot to play some QB for us, at least as a backup.

Beyond that I want to see him on the field a lot, so I hope he converts to tight end. Seriously, assuming he can catch the ball, he could go pro with his size, running ability and the way he dishes out the punishment to those linebackers and would-be tacklers. He’s a football player, that’s for sure.

Great post. I remember his first fumble-trip first snap this year and shook my head and rolled my eyes. Boy, this kid has earned my respect. Shame nobody worked on his passing. Maybe he can red shirt next year. Regardless he'd be on any team I'd ever put together.

He's the perfect example of why you don't run off the "lessor" guys for the so-called anointed "studs"....

Absolutely love his competitiveness and toughness. He's fearless. That counts for a lot, with regard to leadership and especially as a runner, but I just am not sold on him being a QB, from a passing perspective. I hope he proves me wrong and improves immensely and wins the job next year (because he improves not because we can't recruit better).

However, if I'm Greg, my top 3 recruits for next year are all QBs, including at least 1 grad transfer/juco, as it's hard for me to see Langan improving that much and we need a major upgrade at that position to be competitive.

Hey, the game is obviously lost when Langan runs into the end zone just to score one more touchdown. No matter what backups were playing on OSU, Langan has shown he has no quit in him. That kind of energy can spark some real success on both sides of the ball. And remember, he’s a freshman who didn’t get starter’s reps in practice, came into a game when others were taking their redshirts, and brought in a can do attitude. I have never seen a QB with that fire over center at RU.

As bad as people are saying Langans throwing motion and accuracy is, hes matching Sitkowskis completion percentage from last year. They installed a new offense midseason. And he doesn't have blackshear to throw 5 yard passes to. The kid has the respect of the team and the fanbase.its fun to watch him. I hope he continues to improve

Langans first year as a starter is not a disastrous as Art was last year. He's actually getting better and makes plays.
Because he’s not really throwing the ball. Really tough to compare the two. Give him credit for guts & heart. But let’s leave it at that.

Johnny is having a better year than Artur by far, but the receivers are getting more separation this year. Last year, the receiving corps was disastrous. (Blackshear was pretty much the only option last year.)

One more thing, he stands tall in the pocket even when it is collapsing. A few times I thought he would get sacked as the pocket shrunk around him but he stood there and got the ball off. Some credit to the Oline too, I think they had a good game. Hope he improves next year but we also bring in a transfer qb to compete.
