Maybe, we will see.
However. I don’t think he is a leader.
If I was interviewing him, that would be my first question. As a leader on your team, how can you reconcile leaving your team for a direct competitor team?

Justin Boren left Michigan to play for Ohio State, that’s a direct competitor. Ohio State has out scored Rutgers 271-27 since they joined the B1G. The games have to be competitive to be considered direct competitors.

Any chance a backup lineman at Ohio State would transfer to Rutgers for a starting role for a chance to showcase his ability? Don’t hold your breath.

There is an excellent chance that at least 1 Ohio State player will transfer to Rutgers.

Best of Luck,
Groz

There's a difference playing for pay in the NFL ….vs. playing against your team in the same conference / division.

MO
PS R U still in touch with Tom Savage? Hope he's doing well. He was one of my favorites.

I don’t have a problem with Rutgers fans rooting against guys like Jonah or Tom after they leave but it drives me nuts when people question a kid like Jonah’s character because he transfered as a grad transfer.

He was recruited by Flood when Rutgers was playing in sold out stadiums and beating teams like Michigan. Ash never considered Floods recruits his guys. He gave it his all for 4 years and earned his degree. Everyone knew this year was going to be a disaster, he deserved the opportunity to play in front of a sold out home stadium and play in a Bowl game.

Yes, I saw Tom last week. His NFL career is over after suffering another concussion with the Lions in preseason. He just bought a house in our hometown and will be moving back here in January.

Disgraceful
No loyalty anymore
Kids today do not appreciate anything you do for them.
He should be ashamed to come out of the locker room.
What, he gave his blood sweat and tears for fours years, then decided to do what was best for him. Smart move by him, coaches don’t practice loyalty, they practice $$$$. If you drove Yugo for 4 years and someone gives u an opportunity to drive a Lamborghini what would you do?

Wish him the best! He graduated from Rutgers, was loyal to his team for 4 years, he didn't bail. The Grad Transfer rule/process is just like NFL free agency, a 1 yr contract, that most will use to position themselves for draft or getting into a grad degree program and expect this situation to happen frequently.
Its not like he demanded to red-shirt in the same season.

Kid must have some leadership qualities since he was elected a Captain. But you don’t need to be a leader to be a solid nfl player. Not everyone in any organization is a leader. In fact they are few and far between . In any job , know what is expected of you and exceed expectations . If the kid is talented enough he will have a role at the next level. It will probably not be a leadership role, but a role nonetheless.

When you have a chance to make a 100 point plus betting line change, you take it. Somebody must be counting.

I would have suggested my son do the same. And a shame for guys like Muller/Miller/Nelson that they didn’t do it.

Right. Stay loyal and look out for everyone else even if they don't give a crap about you and take advantage of you. Stick with a coach & school that is a dumpster fire & doesn't really support the program. Cool.

The going gets tough some time..

No but he will be welcomed post game by the guys he grew up with here at Rutgers. Afterall as they say it is a lifelong brotherhood

Because the Rutgers players are a bunch of candy asses. They’ll be hugging him up and taking pictures like groupies .

If it's me I would have walked to Columbus to learn how to play my position and to learn how to win.

I'm so happy for Jonah. I'm rooting for him. Don't be sore loosers, the kid gave us the bulk of his eligibility.

Did anyone catch what Day said about Hafley while at Rutgers? the fact that he knew what he was up too while at Rutgers raised an eyebrow.

If he was still at RU you hypocrites would still be saying this is the worst line ever. Now that he's at OSU, he's apparently unstoppable. Still the same guy
