You know he’s going to have an innovative offense. And he’s got some personality. I know you are going to say he’s failed at two other spots but I’ve always liked this guy

Gimmy not doing his homework here. Must of been a late night in the Castro district for him so we should cut him some slack.

There was a coach who locked a son of a famous ESPN announcer in the freezer once after the kid suffered a concussion and was fired. He was hired by another team and is doing very well there. Some male RU fans would probably sacrifice one testicle for this coach. The other team thought outside the box and sometimes, RU administration has to as well for success. (BTW, Rich Rod is not my first choice for coach, but I am just saying that I hope Hobbs thinks outside the box for the next coach.)

Isn't that a little different? Wasn't there some question as to what Leach did, and wasn't the player's snow plow Dad pushing an agenda?

It is and it isn't. The bottom line is many schools shyed away from hiring Leach because of the bad publicity associated with this but Wazzu did not. They now have a very good coach leading a respectable team.

Rich Rod had other issues, namely flaming out at 2 separate schools after WVU.

Leach is still pressing his case that Texas Tech owes him. Why would he do that if he did something wrong?

Leach was out of coaching for a few years , Wazzu had the benefit of the TT incident dying down a bit.
But they did still get some blow-back that was pushed aside by the school when they hired Leach.

Haha I didn't see that Rich Rod thing in the booth lol. But I can see that for sure cause I've seen him do that on the sidelines as HC.

That's why I always wonder when people say they can change their personality demeanor or what not....I don't know how much that is true. I kind a feel after a certain point in life you are who are personality wise and it's mostly set in stone with some minor changes possible and maybe a few exceptions that can actually change.

Like Pete Carroll first stint as coach in NFL criticized for being the happy go lucky kind fun players coach....but did that ever change was the same at USC and in his return to the NFL....has Belichick been any different than the gruff mumbler during his career. Generally I think people are who they are after a certain point in life.

Honesty, since our fans are all situated on the past, Rich Rod brings a lot to the table over Schiano

Rich Rodriguez? Absolutely! Hopefully he still has the drive it would take to right this ship...if it’s Schiano, fine...it is a pharaonic task ahead of whomever takes it!

Cheese The next time you go to San Francisco go to the Castro and hang a sign on yourself that says you are a bottom. Then you will know where it is

I’ve know the cheese for a long time. And let me tell you something about @RU Cheese he has already done far worse in the Castro. The guy isn’t known as the cheese man for nothing.

Was thinking about him, but not sure he can recruit NJ and he does have some baggage.

IF we cannot make a deal with Schiano, I really want us to steal a great coach away from another program.

Someone like Leach would be great!!
Even though he does not have NJ contacts, he is the type of “national” coach who can recruit anywhere.

Wish we could get Mullen’s too, but Florida would never let him go.

He couldn't do the job with all the resources at his disposable at Michigan?
Rodriguez has the lowest winning percentage (.405) of any coach in Michigan football's history.

He lost at Michigan, and you think he'll win at Rutgers? I mean in the B1G East the only school realistically RU is goign to out recruit is Indiana.

I honestly would take Jeff Monken and run the triple option and make everyone hate you like Georgia Tech did for years. You'll win some games you shouldn't running that offense.

It would be like putting in the offense that UVA runs in basketball. The school was **** in bball, put in the most God awful scheme for a blue blood. But they won, and in the end, i'd rather win ugly, than be a perennial loser.
