Well I wouldn't say that. BVW certainly did, or at least claimed to. Remember "come get us"? Where this team is now has pretty much met my expectations, although they took a much different route than I expected.

When you make what he makes you expect top 5 to top 1 in all those categories. The fact that the nationals eliminated trashydelphia is an delight and a satisfying FU! Could not happen to a better dude and city!
To finish out the year I'd like to see Alonso get 3 more HR's to beat Judge and then for deGrom to put up a complete game shutout to get a back to back CY!!!

What we are going to see now that HOF votes are reported, many more Unanimous players going in. Though, not a lot of sure things anyway over the next few years. But over the years, there are at least 10-20 guys that should have been absolute no brainer unanimous
Truth. Jeter deserves to be unanimous. Don't let the mistakes of the past impact the future. Yes, 15-20 others should have had the same honors. Thankfully, Mo broke the ice.
Because he was never considered the best at his position in any given year. HOF, of course, unanimous, no way.
There were years when Jeter wasn't the best shortstop on his own team.
That said, I cannot think of any good reason to deny him a first ballot vote.
The sad thing is that if Arod didn’t decide to go all “bonds” on is, I am sure he still would have had a HOF career and would have been the best at his position for many of those years. But since he did cheat, you have to take him out of the equation. So, who does that leave with being ahead of Jeter for great individual years? Nomar? Without Arod and Nomar, Jeter May have had quite a few years at the top for individual years. And the only thing that ever held him from that distinction was power.
The guy played 20 years and his 162 game ave was almost 120 runs scored and 204 hits. And consistent for just about every year. These “never the best” arguments are as dumb as they get. Sorry

At this point does it really matter if Jake has 10 or 11 wins? It's actually incredible even with the better team he has such a low total. Goes to show the W stat for a SP really doesn't matter.

No it's not. It's to adjust each stadium within a particular year. That's why 1.0 set as the annual reference point. It doesn't vary year to year.
I tried to find the raw # of HRs per stadium, but wasn't able to. Give it a try. That would be helpful.

Another great game for deGrom and may have locked up the CYA. I believe Ryu may have one more start. I would have to think he would need a monster performance to get it over deGrom. Jake leads in everything but wins and the era is super close. If Ryu even has just a good game, let's sat 7 innings 3 ER...Jake may even catch him there. But deGrom dominates him in everything else. American league CYA will be interesting between teammates though.
