We haven't been allowed to bring in water bottles for many years now due to Homeland Security concerns...I wasn't at the first game... what was the experience last game bringing in water bottles?
Going to be pretty warm tomorrow, so I was planning on bringing in a couple of extras.
Thanks... I knew what the guidelines say, but last year there were people bringing things in, that's why I asked.
Guess I'll have to bring an extra $20 bucks in, miss a lot of the game waiting in line, and hope they don't run out before I get there. (Happened before as well).
Bring a bag of ice. The water they sell is usually piss warm.Thanks... I knew what the guidelines say, but last year there were people bringing things in, that's why I asked.

Be careful. Saw a guy get caught with bottles in his pocket. They did not take kindly to it.Stick a bottle or 2 in your back pockets , and let your shirt hang over them. Then refill fill them at the fountains inside.
This is not rocket science, lol.

Food and Beverage Policy: Due to Homeland Security guidelines, no outside food and beverage will be permitted into the stadium. An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection at the Guest Services gates designated for this purpose.

Rutgers is the only stadium in the NY area that has homeland security concerns....Met Life, Yankee Stadium and Citi Field allow you to bring in closed bottles of water. It's a joke.
but, to answer the OP....wear clothing that will allow you to bring your bottles in: cargo pants, shirt that will cover bottles in the back of your pants, a jacket with deep pockets. I wore a jacket into the first game despite the 85 degree weather to get my iced tea cans into the stadium and thank God I did because the upper deck was out of all drinks by halftime.
Even better is to carry something in that you know will get confiscated (an open bottle of water perhaps) and distract them from looking at your person as you smuggle stuff in.
(Iowa regulations allowed us to bring in 1 closed bottle and as much food as you wanted. I made point of letting Sarah know that when she visited the RU section in the stadium)
Bingo! This is a straight money grab by RU. And they wonder why their season tickets sales keep falling. It’s been shown on these boards, with links to RU’s own webpages, that it is NOT due to Homeland Security guidelines.
Why should we have to do that? Why can’t Rutgers just makes its policy more sensible? How about this? Right before you enter the stadium, drink a **** ton of water.
Jesus, the idea that people can't go a few hours WITHOUT WATER!!!! is the dumbest trend in America.
********.Be careful. Saw a guy get caught with bottles in his pocket. They did not take kindly to it.

Let me guess.. Sarah said she would “look into it.”Rutgers is the only stadium in the NY area that has homeland security concerns....Met Life, Yankee Stadium and Citi Field allow you to bring in closed bottles of water. It's a joke.

Did you get any responses about the water/beverage/food situation at the second level?
Someone should Tweet to RU Athletics or whomever today to ensure there is an adequate supply of COLD (not WARM!!!!) water available throughout the stadium. It is nonsensical that this is so difficult.
It’s very similar when you are in the sun for most of the game. How about this? Right before you enter the stadium, drink a **** ton of water.
Jesus, the idea that people can't go a few hours WITHOUT WATER!!!! is the dumbest trend in America. Sitting watching football is not the same as running a marathon in Summer at noon.

That’s not the point. You should have to sneak a beer in, but not water.I never understand this gripe. I used to go to games with four beers (six if it was cold) in my clothes. People can't get a water bottle in?
Just don't try to bring in an egg.

Absolutely incorrect. Some of us have medical reasons for consuming a lot of water. I'm not going through the ******* trouble of bringing a doctor's note to get permission to bring two bottles of water. And when you are in the late summer/early fall sun in the 80's for a few hours, you need to consume water. How about this? Right before you enter the stadium, drink a **** ton of water.

The Cookie Lady thing is out of control. It was fun for a few years. Now, after Rutgers scores a TD, a guy 10 rows down from us is holding a cookie lady fathead that is literally 6 feet tall over his head and you can't see the action on the field as the kick the extra point.someone sent me a message after the last game....she saw some elderly man..in his 80's have his 4 cough drops confiscated because they were "outside food". @LadyRU09 had an apple confiscated last year.
YET...
the cookie lady and the twizzler guy still get their food in no problem. Not that I want those traditions to go away, because I don't....but how is this allowed to happen?
this is a joke, right? because if it's not you are an idiot. And I mean that in all sincerity.
I sit on the visitor side of the stadium, upper deck....by choice. it's hot up there on a sunny day. very hot. as a nurse I'll tell you that you should be continuously hydrating in the hot sun...not just binging water before you walk into the stadium and getting something to drink 5 hours later when you get to your car. Older people can't binge drink water. People with medical problems can't binge drink water..they will shut their kidneys down or screw up their electrolites. I'm guessing you haven't been there for the Saturday noon games where people were passing out from the heat? needed to be transported to the hospital for hydration?
I emailed Sarah after the first game Ana’s told her they ran out of water in the upper deck. I asked her and the Athletic department to let people bring in sealed water bottles. She emailed me back and said she would be in contact with the vendor “to ensure they don’t run out of complementary water.” Don’t know what that means? The water fountains will work?
It’s not well publicized but RU does allow people with medical needs to bring in food and beverages. They must enter through the gate for player’s families on the the North end.
RU is going to get hit with and lose a lawsuit over this someday when a fan gets sick, injured or dies. RU’s own published study and recommendations will be used as evidence against itself.
I think I will bring my BUN numbers from my last visit to MSKCC and then show them the 12 inch scar across my abdomen as I carry my water in. Would love to see their reaction.the "complementary water" may refer to the glasses of water we can request on the upper deck because..well...no effing water fountains up there.
I am aware of this....and while I don't fit into either category maybe it's time I have one of my doctor friends write me a note so I can bring in water without having to feel like some kind of criminal sneaking it in all the time.

Psychogenic polydipsia hyponatremia!! Yeah, that's the ticket!!!!!FWIW, you don’t even have to do that. All I had to do was tell them what I have. No note or anything. I used the proper medical terminology and I’m sure they had no clue what I was saying. LOL. I’m sure you can fool them!
I get the difference. My point is just that it's a manageable issue. I don't see letting people bring 1-2 bottles of water in resulting in some dramatic decrease of dehydration or health issues. And if that's wrong, then sneak a bottle in.That’s not the point. You should have to sneak a beer in, but not water.

Dehydration can sneak up on your when you are just sitting in the sun. Then maybe you’re lucky and just get sick in your seat and get treated. Or worse, you stand up, with nowhere to fall except on hard edges or down concrete steps. Or nobody notices you are sitting there going into heat exhaustion and then heat stroke. Lots of bad things can happen.
