Doesn't quite roll off the tongue, but who cares? Just hope it's a better sponsorship deal for us.

I did notice Audi is also no longer listed as one of our major sponsors at the bottom of the front page on scarletknights.com. Hope it is only temporary. I wonder if Provident Bank is the bank that is buying the naming rights for The RAC that is supposed to occur this Fall?

Once shi won the stadium, Stuff Yer Face was so pissed off that they dropped out and beehive bank swooped in to outbid Audi.

Or maybe Hobbs is so incompetent that Audi didn’t want it at any price. The Audi Club at shi_ stadium. Fools, our program is run by fools in sunglasses!

Pretty dumb comment you keep repeating. OK, you don't like Hobbs or his sunglasses. We'll get Julie back for ya. Because things were so much better then, and Hobbs has done nothing positive while here.

Interesting, Audi was a major sponsor - their logo appears about 7 times on each hoop at the RAC - replaced the block “R” and red and white “RUTGERS” for a plain black padding with the Audi logo like 6 times a few years ago I hate it

Yes, the department is run by fools. No doibt about that. Just check out the events surrounding the 150th anniversary and you’ll have great examples of it. But this isn’t an example. The AD getting a sponsor to replace a previous sponsor (usually) isn’t a bad thing.

Hobbs loses AGAIN.

The guy is killing us!

how do you figure? do you know the financial details of the deal? While S.H.I stadium is an unfortunate name, it did net Rutgers almost double the amount of money High Point was paying. I can't imagine that Hobbs would do a deal for less money than Audi was paying.

Provident Bank Club.
it works.

(and is way shorter than other clubs i.e. Michigan's Jack Roth Stadium Club Seats)

Why is SHI Stadium unfortunate? I really dont get it. Its not like its FUC stadium. When you pronounce S.H.I. Stadium, it does not sound like the word ****. I cannot figure out why that joke is even a thing. Its not funny, and its only our miserable "fans" saying it.

well, because it's not just our miserable fans. it's every fan base and even one of the B1G TV guys got in on it day one. It's still Rutgers stadium to me so I don't care what they call it.
the point, however, is that Hobbs is not screwing anything up here.

Its unfortunate because these are still "minor" sponsorship deals. Like Highpoint, SHI is another "WHO?" type deal. Yes it might be for more money, but the fact we can't get a fortune 500 type company to come in an slap their name on it for even 2-3 Million a year is whats pathetic.

Now losing AUDI for provident Bank? Are you kidding me? Whatever these small time copanies will pay you, you have to know there are bigger fish that could beat those deals. So either our school sucks at closing the deals, or our school sucks for neglecting a cash cow for so long that the big names are embarrassed to be associated with us, either way THEY EFFFED UP BIG TIME.

I wish we had a history of “fools” that could bring in 100 million every few years. If we had, we would have a real baseball stadium, hockey arena, softball stadium, permanent indoor football practice facility, lacrosse stadium, and a bunch of other things that most Big Ten, Pac 12, SEC, ACC, and Big 12 schools have. I wonder if Fred Gruninger raised 100 million the whole time he was collecting a paycheck from Rutgers.

Just a guess but a lot of people don't say the word, they spell it out. As a result, people will add the "T" when you say "S-H-I". My wife saw the new sign on Saturday. It was at that moment she realized I was not joking around. Looked at me and said "Really? That is so Rutgers". This coming from a Penn St. grad made it worse. It's my fault for marrying one! SHI is pronounced S H I. as in you just say the letters, that is how their commercials are.

This is bizarre logic. Who cares what the name is? I care who pays us the most.

I will go as far as to say whoever doesn't think this way need to get fitted for clown shoes.

The WHOLE POINT of endorsements and naming rights is to make as much MONEY as possible. The name doesn't matter, the check does. Anyone who doesn't get this is...

Jersey guys have always had this really odd infatuation with people wearing sunglasses. Goes back to Pernetti. It's so weird.

If this sponsorship get Banker back posting,
I'm all for it.
I understand he got rid of his Audi in for and that might be the reason they're gone.
Think I seen him cruising by SHI in a Scarlet Lamborghini :Rutgers

Bizarre logic? Did you miss the entire part that says more money should be had for a big ten stadium? I care who pays us the most too. If you think Highpoint and SHI are top notch deals its you who has bizarre logic.

Texas next deal will be north of $6 MM considering they signed in 2006. USC and UW have recently signed Power 5 Deals that blow us out of the water. Kentucky who should be considered a peer as far as football goes is getting almost 30% more for a deal inked in 2016.

You want to compare us to Houston? Inked in 2014, non p5 and still getting more.

Or should we stoop to north texas who managed $1mm in 2010?????

Enjoy your lap snowflake

Let's not make the mistake of comparing ourselves to non-p5 naming rights deals.
There were P-5 schools included in my link
Louisville might be selling naming rights now that they took Papa John’s name off and getting a better deal
Also I’m sure there will be more P-5 schools getting different naming rights deals for more money in the next couple of years.
But for now Texas Tech, Kentucky, Maryland ,California and Minnesota are listed in the link I posted in which Rutgers naming rights can be compared to.

We’re getting as much as Minnesota, a peer school, and if it’s extended we’ll get more than them. On top of which it’s a five year deal, possibly 7, not 10, 15 or 20 like the others and we’re not even good. If we improve any maybe we can get a better deal in 5-7 years.

Can't wait for the first time Joe Nolan mentions "SHI Stadium". I bet there will be plenty of people yelling "T" after the "I".

Maybe in your circle of friends.

Not so much for other more upscale buyers that RU FB is targeting as fans.

Minnesota is not a peer. We are in the New York market!!!
