Good article on the differences.

Yadda, Yadda...blah blah blah
imo Friends is not Sponge worthy
Was Jerry an "Indian Giver"?
I wouldn't spare a square either
My Manziere would break
Johnny Jr. wouldn't take the case
The gay armoire thieves would pass on Rachel / hit on Schwimmer
Somewhere in the bowels of NY there is a man who looks like Wally Cox riding the subway with a complete set of TV guides featuring I Love Lucy
I don't like women with man hands either (creepy- not withstanding gender reveals / LGTBQ
But I do like Hatchers "they're magnificent and they're mine"
George's IQ was off the charts ….until he met the girl from Ipanema (Portugal)
I love Smoopie ...and the Soup Nazi is right: no soup for YOU!

Friends. Never understood the undying love for Seinfeld. Someone said Friends characters are whiny. Maybe. But Seinfeld is just 4 people screaming unfunny things.

FWIW I was in Russia in the late 90's and Friends was on TV all the time. I ask my wise Russian/American guide if Seinfeld was also on, and he said no, Russians would not understand it and it would never translate.

Seinfeld. Friends not in the same league.

I am convinced that there is a Seinfeld episode for every situation you face during the day. Many phrases from the show are now common usage.
Friends is a cute show but not all that funny,

I could see that. I was visiting Germany in 2003 and had dinner one night in a restaurant in a small town. I got chatting with the owners, who were friends with my brother. One of their friends was there who spoke little English, but managed to communicate enough to me that he liked American TV and then said Seinfeld and "Chinese restaurant".

I enjoyed Friends but Seinfeld by a mile. Cheers and Frasier up there above Friends. Found Modern Family funny at times too. NewsRadio very underrated.

Seinfeld by a mile, but Friends was good too. The Honeymooners, All in the Family, Barney Miller, Cheers/Frazier, and Mash were all great shows.

Seinfeld is funnier but I grew up in my 20s totally relates to the friends character

I mean....I had a date once at Ernie’s ...then a couple of months later ...“Ernie’s at eight?” Made it the rage ...

Good point. To me, they were both the best shows when they were on. Same with Cheers and the Office. All great shows. All funny. All different. I watch them all still today.

Calling Friends whiny is silly. Nobody whines more than Jerry...we’ll except for maybe Ross.

Count me in the "Seinfeld by a mile" club.

Friends is the television version of a spice girls/new kids on the block mashup.
