Carter. More mobility and ability to improvise. With a weak OL, that is absolutely essential.

Wasn’t the main argument “2018 was the worst offense in college football and the worst of the Ash Era, but we need McN back for continuity”?

Trick question. I am not choosing either right now. Let’s see more of Carter and Art. I like Carter’s skill set for this team, but we have almost 2 more full weeks. Let it play out.
Carter, knows how to play the position. Knows to throw the ball away if no one is open.
Carter. It would be nearly impossible for him to be worse than Sit.
When Sitkowski was finally benched for the last game, stat wise Gio wasn't that big of an improvement. But you know what? Got some important first with his legs. Had the lead in the 4th quarter with a chance to win.

I used to agree with this, but not with this coaching staff.
Most of us have either played ball or been watching it for many years.
Some here even coach right now.
We all saw enough of Check Down Sit last season.

Proud, I rarely am a fan of firing coaches during a season, but if we are 0-5, then we can’t wait until December 1. Let McNulty, Camp, Schiano, Scott Goodale, Coach Pike, Nichols, Sarah, or The Scarlet Knight give it a try.

I didn't vote in the poll but I'll say this...I like that he was a KK qb recruit. There's a reason I was always coming up with those KK hypotheticals to be a possible candidate just before he got fired. The man knows qbs and can identify qbs with potential so I'll assume Carter has solid potential...just how much of it is realized and fulfilled here who the hell knows. I've barely seen the guy play so who the heck knows...it's just the KK "endorsement" that would make me think there must be some potential.
As to continuity, I've said before here too many take it as black and white and that it must be the embodiment of a single person. I don't see it that way.
IMO continuity is having an overarching theme and philosophy that's constant but can have tweaks here and there and doesn't necessarily have to be embodied in a singular entity. McNulty as the same OC but sounds like we're not going to be running the same offense as last year. Is that continuity even though the same OC is back?
I've mentioned this here before when people talk about our number of OCs over the years. Utah IIRC has had 9 OCs in 11 years and they've been humming along pretty okay to well for the most part. Whittingham is a defensive coach too but I'm guessing the overarching theme has been similar through those changes with personal variations. Same for Bob Stoops at OU who I've mentioned here as well....also a defensive coach. Influenced by his time under Spurrier and Florida he wanted a wide open capable of scoring offense. First year hired Mike Leach and he was there only for a year that's all. No continuity right? Nope that theme and what Leach laid the foundation for remained through I think maybe 6-7 coordinators during Stoops' tenure, some from within and it was humming pretty well on offense for the part.
That's my point it's the overarching theme and philosophy that needs continuity not particularly we need to have things embodied in a singular entity year to year.

I would agree with this, if Ash wasn't our coach. Zero confidence in his decision making abilities.

I have zero input on this and have to abstain. I know Sit struggled last year, but I have nothing to go on with Carter. Hoping a second year with McNulty can magically get things to start to "gel" for the team as a whole - having a returning OC is uncharted waters at this point, since we haven't had one in over a decade.

Better to take a shot with something new than continue with what he saw last season.

Both head coaches are offensive minded. Which makes their QB play so much better than a defensive minded coach like ASH. If you give these two QB’s here at Rutgers a chance to be coached under BABERS OR CAMPBELL. They would be very good college QB’s in my opinion

You must be reading the polls wrong.
I have it on good authority (from many on this board) that Babers and his “up tempo, fast pace, gimmick offense” will never work in a P5 conference. It certainly would never work against elite teams (such as Clemson.....).
Of course these are usually the people making these two contradictory statements:
1. Recruiting is all that matters. Nobody could coach these RU players and win or be competitive.
2. Syracuse is in our rear view. They have no talent. They will never win.
Maybe coaching does come first....
He should, if the stated goal is to develop a long term quarterback. Carter should contribute and play meaningful minutes. Why would we start over again next year looking for a QB?
Exactly. As I said when Carter first transferred here, it was clear from his film that he's a much better QB with much better mobility and ability to throw on the run than AS. No brainer to bench the worst QB in 1A last year (and in many years) for a guy who was ready to be the starter at Texas Tech, if not for injury (as long as he's healthy now and he appears to be after yesterday).
