Visiting NYC with the wife. Just walked the Brooklyn Bridge. Wanted to get it done before the heat. Tons of beautiful women on the bridge (wife included of course). Lots of models, or wannabe models, doing photo shoots and others just walking. If I was a 20 something living here I’d frequent the bridge. Ahh, to be 21 again. I don’t know if it’s known for that or I just caught it on a good day.

Great place to walk with great views. Always good talent walking on the bridge and Central Park.
Walked the Williamsburg Bridge a couple of weeks ago. The views are not as great because it's not as open but same thing lots of people walking across and some taking pictures. You do get a good shot of the East River bend with the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges in the background.
I walked the Brooklyn Bridge as well but it's actually way too many people on it. I remember they started putting locks and stuff but they had to remove them as there were too many and they were nervous the bridge wouldnt' be able to hold the extra weight.

I've walked the BB 4 or 5 times and have seen bikers crash (into pedestrians or the railings) every time. Think the main issue is a combination of the bridge being too crowded and people walking in the bike lane. Great views though.
And I will be there on the Brooklyn side anchorage to project the Bridge from any pyrotechnic snafus.
Should be some view.

Mostly oblivious Euros walking around with selfie sticks...like walking on the high line...a great urban space ruined by tourists.
Who knows when I’ll get to visit NYC again, but it will be interesting to see who it evolves.
You really need to time it right because it can get very congested which takes away from the experience. Well known pizza joint on the Brooklyn side is popular for lunch. Grimaldis?
Always like that. Popular spot for engagement photos too. DUMBO is pretty cool. It is way too hot today though. :sunglasses:
I lived in Brooklyn Heights for 8 years in what now seems like another life. I would jog across the Brooklyn Bridge on Sunday mornings and go down the middle of Wall Street area when it was deserted. Very cool experience. The Brooklyn Heights Promenade is also a great place to walk and check out the sights.
I walked the Bridge once about 7 years ago. It was with my 80 year old aunt and a 50 year old cousin who were visiting here from Georgia.
That was the end of the day after visiting the 9/11 Memorial site and seeing the new WTC being built, and a trip to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis
Island. After crossing the Bridge we took the Subway back to Manhattan then rode the Staten Island Ferry back home. What a day.

99% of the people leisurely walking the bridge are tourists. If they are locals commuting they probably aren’t walking very leisurely given how crowded it can be or they are on bikes.
A few years ago during City Streets (3 Saturday’s in August where Lafayette/Park Ave from Brooklyn Bridge to 72nd Street is closed to traffic) we started on the Brooklyn side to run across and then up to 72nd into Central Park and the Brooklyn Bridge running experience was horrendous having to dodge tourists, selfie sticks and bicyclists.
That being said, I agree that loads of talent on the bridge.

I was up top and not on the boat. Only me, one of my men, some observers from Fire Prevention and the pyrotechnic guys (and gals) were up there during it.
And Charlie Watts is still with us so...
Was kind of difficult to see from that news clip, did they extinguish the fires with water cans, a trash line, or 1 3/4 handlines?

Many young people now live in Brooklyn, having been priced out of Manhattan. So it's not surprising you see many young women (perhaps living in Brooklyn Heights) on the bridge.
99% of the people on the bridge in a single day are tourists. With that said a lot of commuters use it as well. I crossed into Brooklyn just before 8am about 2 weeks ago and there was a constant line of cyclists heading into Manhattan, one bike right on the tires of the next. But the volume of tourists is staggering the rest of the day.
I'm sure you're right, but that doesn't explain the apparent glut of attractive women; tourists rarely look good.
It's a favorite place as a model photo op. Mostly Asian and Russian. And wow hot but they are clueless that a cyclist is moving at 25MPH and walk right in the path and get plowed and modeling career is over
