As always, the Gold Cup draw is set up to produce a US-Mexico final. The US path to that final is pretty soft. If they get a result (win or draw) against Panama, they win the group. Then they play either Jamaica, El Salvador, or Curacao in the quarterfinals. Win that, and they advance to the semifinals against one of those same three teams, or possibly a Panama rematch. The US path was simplified by Honduras getting eliminated by Curacao.
Mexico, on the other hand, will have to deal with always dangerous Costa Rica. Or perhaps a potentially tricky rematch with Canada.
