Eugene clearly shows an alpha male personality, and we know from last year’s stories that he was the alpha of the team. Then comes in some new dogs and they might have messed with his spot. I’m not saying this is why EO left, but I have to think it is hard to be the alpha and then lose that spot going into your senior year

If he was scared some comp came in at his position, he ain't an alpha. He's a beta.

You would think EO would've been the most excited for this season. He's been here and suffered through all the bad times. And now that the good times are finally here - he wants no part of it

If my kid takes a job and after a few years realizes he doesn't like the culture or coworkers I'd tell him have you ever thought about working somewhere else. I suspect most who post on the board would do the same.

Why do people think that Eugene owes them and is something less for leaving?

Why is CJ Gettys a hero to us when in fact he left his team as a senior to be?

Why isn't Yeboah a quitter for walking out on Stony Brook?

Well, both Gettys and Yeboah were grad transfers moving up from lesser conferences to a conference with much more competition and exposure.

Both of those guys graduated from their respective schools and took a huge step up in comp and relevance. I have no problem with a kid doing that. It's the difference maker for me.

Where Eugene lands and how he/they play will tell you all you need to know about this move. We will see.

Yup. Totally won’t miss a beat.

Article says Texas A&M has two players from Eugene's hometown in Canada or at least close to his hometown.

On the other hand.... they may just like soft and scared players who just happens to have a history of playing thru Painful knee injuries.

Seems to imply that he was not scared of the competition as Texas A&M was a NCAA team a couple of years ago and is coached by Buzz Williams. I presume they have talent on the roster as good or even better than us.

Of course he was not scared or soft....that was a ridiculous spin by one dude that some people believed even we had 3 years showing he was a warrior and tough as nails.

If someone got in his ear and told him Rutgers is too small time for his talent, that pisses me off even more.

This makes me wonder if the trash talking affected Thiam's shooting last season. I guess we will never know.
Thiam was not a D1A player didnt take much to figure that out. All he was was a shooter that couldn't shoot

If a player announces he wants to leave his school as a graduate transfer, is it tampering to contact him?

Not after he's put his name in the transfer portal. Once a player has notified their school and been put in the transfer portal, any school can contact them to gauge their interest.
