We do Nutro for both dogs. Salmon/Senior for the 12 y/o German Shepherd and chicken sweet potato oatmeal for the 1 year old boxer

Our Shepherd was breaking out in skin rashes and we couldn’t figure it out for a long time. He had always eaten Nutro chicken, brown rice sweet potato his whole life. We were at the pet store and we ran into a Blue Buff rep who mention chicken allergies and why we switched him to Salmon(lamb makes his farts stink) she also warned about non chicken treats. Many still use chicken fats and by products. It has helped a lot.

Tried a few from Fromm for our older and younger dogs, and finally settled on the “Adult Gold” variety. They seem to enjoy it, they’re getting along okay, and they make healthier doodies than I do, that’s for sure!

Also, there is not anything they enjoy more than chewing on those bison knuckles you can get at the store. They absolutely love them.

We feed a rotational variety of raw.

Primarily Steve’s Real Food patties, prey model, for the Weimaraner (either Beef, Turkey, or Chicken), Steve’s regular patties for the Lab Mix (either pork, turducken, chicken & beef) though we will rotate to Small Batch. We used to feed Vital Essentials until the FDA went stupid on them (thanks to Big Pet Food)

We just adopted a little chiweenie who transitioned to raw, too.

Like someone said, why feed the same thing over and over? Kibble is like eating McDonalds your whole life; it’ll sustain you but it ain’t great...

One of the things we have also made a huge change with is their "treats"...We used to get them the standard treats from the pet stores but have changed them to veggies and fruits for the most part now. Their usual go to is organic carrots. But they like their fruits as well. Apple, bananas, blueberries and melons. Every once in a while we hand cook them a meal as well. Usually some cheap steak like London broil when we are not using it for a tailgate hahaha with sweet potato, broccoli, carrots and maybe some brown rice.

I’m still doing Milk-Bones.
My dog is in great shape, only gets two cups of food per day.
She attacks her food and any treat with extreme vigor, she demolishes her food in seconds.

I also want to add that feeding Jack Large Breed Puppy food is a great, smart thing to do. People do not realize that regular puppy food is bad for large/giant breeds as the grow way to fast which can lead to life long serious health issues. Large breed puppy food has less fat (8-10%) the regular puppy food (as high as 25%).
You will not end up with a smaller dog, it will just take longer to get to full size.
BTW I used Iams large breed.

14 1/2 yellow lab. Amazing dog and a full fledged member of our family. She has some trouble with her back legs due to age (losing strength), but is otherwise doing great. Switched her over to Orijen Senior dry food about 4 years ago based on a study I read (it was the highest rated food). She seems to be doing well on it. Definitely not the cheapest food, but I really don't care if it is good for her. We previously had a black lab who passed away at 8 1/2 unfortunately (way too soon). She was our first attempt at parenting. Amazing how much a dog can teach you about relationship and responsibility. My wife and I had a bond with her like no other. We got her for $250 and probably spent $15k on medical care for her. Funny how it goes. Dogs, and labs in particular, are the best. They make your life better in so many ways.

We try for all natural dog foods that are higher quality. The basic cheap stuff was described to me by my vet as fast food for dogs.
