B1G is what 6-1? We would be tough in the tournament bc of our size and length for a lot of teams to handle if we could get a strong offensive game from a couple of people. When we were hot we could beat a lot of these teams. When we were not we could lose to a lot of these teams

The strength of the B1G in post season tournaments just shows how difficult league competition is and that moving upward will be a real challenge for Rutgers without 3 point shooters.

What makes you think RU doesn't have 3 point shooters...??

Baker, McConnell, Harper, Young aren't enough shooters??

RU needs better players, not shooters.

Most of the better teams (not #1 seeds either) protect the ball. Make the other team beat you. We have to fix that first whether we get better talent or not. Next year should tell a lot for us with good guard play. Right now most of the tournament teams play at a higher level than we do.

IMO, we need more length in the front court. Going into next year, only Myles Johnson has those long arms you want to see in your bigs. Duke and Shaq have some height but not length.

Leader was McConnell at under 36%.
Rutgers was 12th in the Big Ten in 3pt attempts per game.
14th in the Big Ten in 3pt% at 31.2%

McConnell 35.7% (did shoot 41% in conference)
Baker 34.1%
Harper 27.8%

Need to up the 3pt attempts by a significant margin.
I know everyone complains about "3pt shooting and analytics killing basketball" but have to deal with it and adjust.
You either adapt or end up like the football team.

Shooters translate into points which Rutgers has difficulty in achieving. If Rutgers had such great 3 point shooters, I doubt that this would have resulted in another losing season.I would hope better players means more talented players which translates into scoring which is the difference between winning and losing.Convoluted discussion regarding shooters doesn't change the stats that showed Rutgers offensive efficiency was less than stellar.

How about; we are a very young team and the experience this year just may result in the additional wins we need to be in the tournament. I think you'll see that next year.
