Watching Temple/Belmont I feel like I'm watching a video game where you can have a middling modern day team play against the 1967 Midwest regional champion or something

so glad the selection committee rewarded them over schools like Alabama and NC State

and really I thought Temple was more of a NIT team, they beat Houston and UCF but that was it

man I love this Belmont team

So do I----saw them during the year twice and was impressed.

Frosh big is very good-----Ohio kid------and their best shooter was a bit off tonite.

800 wins for Coach Byrd-----don't care about the level but that is an awesome accomplishment.

Not sure they can beat Md but wouldn't bet against it. Have to control tempo.

NIT note for tonight for any gamblers.
Nebraska is down to the starting 5 for scholarship players. Lost another at practice Monday. The 7’ skinny freshman is out. He was just a sub but still a body albeit a skinny one. Ha.

On a side note. Any of you guys that are over 5’ 4” and aren’t busy tonight be at Pinnacle Bank Arena by 4:00pm to get sized for a uniform if would like to play. If under 5’ 4” a 60” vertical is required. Haha

Glad to see that. It always pissed me off how people from Providence College ran the Big East all those years. They wound up running it into the ground

Maybe that is because the Providence guy created the conference to start with. Just a hint it was not them who killed it it was the crappy football product and the backstabbing of football schools such as BC and Pitt.

Look, I'm not going to say it was all bad leadership, but the fact that you believe it was due to crappy football shows how bad they were at PR.

I mean seriously who would say were the good teams. I will give you West Virginia was pretty good but who else out of Syracuse, Rutgers, Pitt . BC . UConn were any good?

Miami, V-tech, Louisville were all good football programs in the Big East.

Ok forgot about Louisville they were ok . Miami and Virginia Tech wanted to play in the ACC and there was no way you were going to stop that. They had more in common with those schools. I really don't blaime them either.

Fair argument. But, the point is that when the Big East had Louisville, West Virginia, Virginia Tech, Miami and Syracuse, it was not the "crappy football product" you describe. The Big East's failure to keep those football schools happy is what led to the conference's demise.

Have those schools, Pitt , BC, Penn St , RU and
Cinn, Memphis & UCF you'd have a fairly good conference.

I would agree only if you could keep Virginia Tech and Miami but they did not want to be part of it. Bottom line is when Gavitt created the conference he created as a basketball only conference. His first mistake was trying to make the football schools happy. People that later came back to stab his replacement in the back.
