Earlier today it looked like we would have Northwestern->Iowa->Purdue. I was pretty excited. Now it’s at best 1-and-done, and that’s a big maybe.
Agree. Nebraska will be a battle and just don’t like how we match up vs Maryland especially going back to back nights.

Yeah that’s going to be rough. Past two years the second round game was the last game of the night. Now it’s going to be at 2 pm Chicago time after finishing around 8 the night before.
Clearly, it’ll be tough for us because we are constantly playing back to back games versus middle of the pack teams, but if this was a regularly spaced set of games, it’s not THAT bad if the end goal is to get far. We played Wisconsin close early in the season and Indiana could possibly beat Michigan State a third time. If the goal is to get the easiest games early, then yes, Illinois has a good draw, but having to go through Michigan and Purdue? Oof.
Ohio State and (possibly) Indiana are going to make the tournament. Do you really feel we have "a long way to go" to finish where they did?
I think we can hang with Nebraska. We played Michigan and Penn State closer than Maryland did and beat Iowa(should have beat them twice) while Maryland lost to Iowa. Wisconsin will be hard to beat.
Nebraska, Maryland, Wisconsin? I’ll take that over having to play Purdue, Michigan, or Michigan State in the third round. I’m not sure what some of you guys are talking about. Play like we had been playing up until Sunday and we beat Nebraska and can beat Maryland.
We won’t beat anybody unless good Geo shows up. The one that is confident and successfully takes on scoring duties and defends like his hair is on fire.
Just for the record, us Terrapin fans are a bit disappointed in how we ended up as well. It's all relative, right?

The 10 v 7 game should be the 2nd game of the night with the winner of the 12 v 13 playing the 6pm game
the 5/12 game HAS to be slotted in that spot because that half of the draw are afternoon games. the following day the 4 vs 5-12/13 winner will be at 3 as well. Thats how the tourney works, you dont switch up sides of the bracket, you keep them in blocks..either at night or in the day. It is what it is
Aside from the quick turnaround if we get by Nebraska on Wednesday, playing Maryland at 3pm after finishing 830pm the night before, I do not think we could have asked for a better draw, although it could be argued Northwestern , Iowa and Michigan is equally good but I think Michigan is better than Maryland and Wisconsin. Coach Pike has won at least one game in the tourney even in Year 1 so expect him to flush the film of yesterday’s no show and come out intense. Even his post game comments were we played little defense and without intensity. Hoping to get by Nebraska , which I think we should settling up an intriguing game with Maryland and 2 young teams going head to head.

Obviously, someone hasn't been really watching the breakdown of the games....Caleb has been bringing the ball up the ball and starting the offense much more recently and RU is in most games, despite Geo's up and down season (outside of yesterday, which was more lack of defense than Geo not scoring enough). I don't know how certain things get spun into a narrative, but this roster is good enough to win a game without a major contribution from Baker......and it's won games without a game of note from Montez Mathis as well.....
The question is not about Baker any longer, fans aren't watching what's happening.....,the real step is when do we starting to hold the 4 freshmen to a higher standard of ownership, play, performance and being ready to play from the opening tipoff, that we hold Geo and Eugene to that same standard. The Geo thing is a 2 or 3 month ago, situation, where if he missed shots back in November, we didn't believe anyone else was ready to take those shots or make those plays.
Geo had 9 points on 9 shots and we handled Iowa on the road easily.....
Geo didn't dominate things on the road at Northwestern and we won that game....he had 12 points and took 11 shots....
Geo only took 7 shots vs Minnesota and had 5 of 6 FT's to help seal things at the end, but not the key shooter or scorer at this stage of the season.
The 0-10 vs PSU should be a signal to fans that RU was in a game where Baker and Mathis gave no production of points....if this was a "Geo must play well to win", then the PSU game should have been a 10 to 15 point win for PSU....
Time to adjust things and refocus regarding Geo and Eugene as well....we are winning games and its far from the Geo and Eugene 2 man-band of 2 to 3 months ago.....we have other options to go to now and a "Geo must play well situation", doesn't get RU from 3 B1G wins to 7 B1G wins. It happens because the entire roster evolves and is better.....and that should be encouraging, not a stale narrative that doesn't apply anymore.....
