This entire thread is idiotic.
McNulty took the hard road by starting a true freshman because Sitkowski is the most talented QB in the room. You'll see progress next season. McNulty is a good OC and Sit is talented and a hard worker.

I don’t know what the initial decision was based on but I do know that after the second or third game his decision wasn’t based on performance.
Because McNulty made the statements and the statements were NOT armchair expert speculation.

what type of coaching opportunities is he going to get if he quit on his HC before his contract is up? He is an OC,which pays well compaired to his position coach stints. You won't land on yor feet so easily if you quit a coach because he overruled you.

AS was a true freshman.. you are not supposed to start a true frosh.. but we saw what we had.. his flaws could not improve... we took a chance on getting AS experience.. don't throw that investment away now unless you find a sure thing... or that AS shows that he cannot improve on his flaws.
What we need here is an open competition.. and ties go to AS... but along with a short leash.
It is the speed of the game and reads that has hurt AS.. once you eliminate all the pressured issues. But he has shown an ability to throw the ball.. even stepping up when he knows he'll get hit. I can root for a guy like that.. and its up to the coaches to fix the issue with speeding up his reads and making the right decisions.
Unless we see a QB come in here and do that.. I will assume the problem is in recruiting or coaching.

Well if you're good there will be plenty of opportunities. I even commented recently that I've never seen so many coaches (position/coordinators)jump ship before they even unpacked. Kendal Briles reupped with Houston and had Texas State sniffing around him as HC and shortly thereafter is the OC at FSU now. KK got hired at USC and boom the NFL came calling in weeks. Talking about a guy with prickly personality who didn't get along with his HCs Matt Canada has been getting OC jobs all along most recently a falling out with Orgeron and still landed as OC at Maryland.
You may have stories you heard and I'm joe nobody idiot but I'm with NickRU714, it's very difficult to believe that the OC of any defensive head coach, not just Ash, doesn't have a strong say, if not final say frankly, of who the starting qb is going to be. And if said coach was neutered as such I would expect something like Canada and others leaving to find another landing spot.
Don't know haven't seen anything. Maybe taking the year off like Leavitt...both got nice payouts from their gigs. Canada from LSU/Maryland and Leavitt Oregon (another falling out between HC/coordinator btw).
How does this sound for a toxic stew of guys who are easy to get along with:
