Really thought Alaimo was going to be your QB. Didn't Matt just transfer to Rutgers? Do you think you bring in 2 QBs?

LOL. If you've seen our team, you would know that yes, you bring in two QB's, at least, until you get one who can play. We seem permanently snake bitten at the position, and as much as no one wants to hear it we are one good QB from getting this program on the right track.

This is a huge pickup for Ash. Good job.

I think we would take Alaimo in a hot second. Nice to have options and they are both great athletes. Can’t have enough players like them on the roster.

From Todderick:
https://www.nj.com/rutgers/2019/03/...t-player-to-commit-to-rutgers-2020-class.html

Despite being ranked the No. 31 athlete in the country, Massoud will play quarterback in college.

Rutgers plans to infuse more movement at quarterback following its offensive struggles in 2018.

It would be a travesty to have this kid play anywhere but QB, given our lack of talent at that position. Kid looks good on tape - like that he definitely has escapability, which is often a "feel" thing, plus he doesn't just escape to run, but looks to pass until he decides to run. A bit of a long windup, but that can be coached and he throws some nice balls, although, of course, a tape won't show the bad throws.

I'm curious to see what "more movement at QB" means for us this year. Sitkowski isn't unathletic - could never figure out why he didn't run more, especially when other teams clearly were ignoring him. Or maybe this means Lewis and Langdon will get good shots at QB. Any word on Wise?

Rutgers has landed its first verbal commitment in the class of 2020 when Sofian Massoud announced his decision to commit to the Scarlet Knights.

Great start for 2020 we really need a good/ great class if we have any shot of turning this thing around. To have a kid like this leading the charge ( to draw more quality players here) is encouraging to say the least.
Richie to you see an uptick in NY recruiting?
Is NY putting out more quality players?

Just watched his highlites- 2nd pass of the video opened my eyes. Love that he did not try to trow to a covered receiver in the endzone but threw to a spot that allowed his covered WR space to go get it.
Back shoulder throws were impressive as well. A few of his over the middle throws, he will have to be careful and learn the speed of the next level before he makes a few of those.
Long passes were spot on. And at the next level, he needs to learn how to slide.
Love what I saw for someone so young.

A couple throws over the middle would have been interceptions in the B1G. Also seems to telegraph a little more than my liking, I’ve become traumatized by RU QBs doing that leading to pics. But this is me just trying to find anything at all to critique. Great pocket passer and can run which is amazing. Like someone else said, can he take his WRs with him

NJ is now the sixth boro of NYC.:

“A big reason why I committed early was to get the ball rolling for Rutgers. To recruit. To try to pick-up the 2020 guys." the 6-1, 180-pound Massoud said. “That’s a big reason why I committed early – so I can try to get some of the other guys to stay home.”

“Some of the guys I know like A.J. (Roberts) out of Tottenville, Lamy (Constant) from Canarsie, Sanoussi (Kane), Justin Bellido out of E-Hall,” he said. "They are just some of the top guys I’d like to get to stay.”

Some good talent in that group:
