Is it just me or does it seem like good things happen when Harper has the ball?
Yes pleaseIs it just me or does it seem like good things happen when Harper has the ball?
That block was soooo freaking good. His defense is underrated at this point. He's smart and has long arms which makes up for some of the lateral quickness. Next season he should shed a few pounds of fat and replace with muscle and be even more of a beast out thereHow about in a first half of a lot of forgettables, his timed block? Dude on PSU went up fast, hard and strong, Harper was trailing slightly but it seemed like he was trailing deliberately in order to time the block appropriately. Goes up, clean block at the rim!!!!!!!!!!!!! Of course it went the other way, then the other way again and PSU scored in transitition. But still. AWESOME block.
Yuppp the answer is obviously yes. He has the most complete offensive game and extremely high bball IQ. Ron has been so efficient lately too. FIG wayyy off. More doesn't mean every single playNot saying all the offense should run through him, just more of it. Call for some more high ball screens to free him up and let him work his way into the lane. Or find him early on missed opponent’s shots and let him take the ball across the half court line and operate in space on those run-outs to see what he can create.
Or let him run around a double screen to free him up for a pull up jumper from the arc. I saw him spotting up at the arc a lot last night, waiting for the ball to swing his way, which is fine. Just want to see the ball in his hands more.
yup. IMO Ron is our smartest player. The kid plays like he had a dad who was a great nba player. He does everything well and pretty much never makes mental errors. His ceiling is soooo high. He needs to work on his conditioning but that's what this off-season is for. I expect Ron to come back about 10 pounds lighter next year with a lower body fat% as well. NO
He is not going to be a focal point of the offense and that is fine. As he gets better he will get more attention and see opponent's better defenders.
He needs to continue to pick his spots and continue to be aggressive when he gets those opportunities.
He needs others to help him score and there is nothing wrong with that. He is on the right team this year and probably next.
The best part of the last 4-5 games has been his play. We have desperately needed producion out of the 3 position for ages. We can win and be competitive even with our better players not scoring (Iowa) or are starting guards going 1-16 (PSU) when we get production from the 3.
The success this year is largely due to our offensive and it is the diversity of shots from positions 1 thru 5 and location on the court. This was not possible last year.
Still off the meds with the bad takes
No idea how anyone can say we shouldn’t run more offense through Harper after watching his past two performances let alone the glimpses he’s shown throughout the season.
Nah that's posters like me and kyk who have been so freaking right about basically everything this season90+% of my bad takes become consensus thinking eventually. I can post countless examples.
Because Ron can finish around the rim and hit his open 3's. Don't get Ron looks and the offense struggles. Great examples proving our point for us thanksRon Harper Jr. had 6 made FGs and 5 of them were assisted. We had 13 totals assists.
You run our offensive sets and Ron Harper Jr. makes plays in the confines of the offensive sets. We did a poor job offensively in the 1st half running our offense. Ron had 0 made FGs.
So everyone plays better when we run the offense better? Thanks captain obviousAll 5 of our players on the court can be very good options when we run our offense. 2nd half showed it.
In the half court Ron is at his best when others do what they are supposed to do and got Ron the ball in advantageous spots.
More like Exhibit A as to why Ron needs more looks. You think you're making points for your argument but really proving everyone else here rightConference only effective FG%

Will be very surprised to see how many teams decide to adjust their game plans, as Harper continues to score in a variety of ways. He is also a player that can play multiple spots, so he's not as easy to isolate and stop.
I'll bite.....how?
You want guards to put the ball in his hands on the wing and ask him to make a play????
