The Ledger took forever to report this score tonight. Why I don't know but I am glad that Gill won again. I hope they can win the parochial B North on Wednesday most likely against Roselle Catholic at Franklin I believe.

We had someone cover the Gill game. I was supposed to cover Roselle Catholic-Hudson Catholic on Monday and it got postponed to Tuesday and I am already scheduled to cover Franklin girls-Bayonne tonight so can't for RC anymore.

Based on your comments the game against Roselle Catholic would have to moved back from Wednesday to later in the week.

Like ALL freshman there is going to be a major adjustment period playing in the B1G. Passes that are there in HS won't be there in B1G as players are 3-4 inches longer at all spots on the floor.

He's a player with a lot of promise and potential

Pike has to also bring in a lights out shooter via the grad transfer route.

Or a big man

Sure. But there will be stuff there for him playing with these guys that isnt there when you play with a mildly athletic high school team. That's an adjustment too, but one with lots of opportunities

Nope. The North Jersey, Non-Public B final is at Franklin at 8:00 p.m., still.
Crap. I was hoping they would have to reschedule so I could attend. Of course, I'll be at the RU-PSU game on Wednesday night.

I'd love to witness a GSB-RC rematch.

North A is at 6
It’s amazing that even on the same night as the state Championships we sold out the RAC. That’s something in the past where we’d say “well the NJ casual basketball fan will be at the champ games hurts RU attendance” but the game is sold out so so much for that!

Same here. Love HS hoops this time of year but I'll be at RU-PSU. Elizabeth-East Side last night was a tremendous HS atmosphere.

He also has a tendency to dribble into the defense. Somehow in high school he manages to maintain possession and get off his passes, but I suspect some of those dribbles are going to get deflected in college.

That said, watching him dribble around the defenses in high school -- the kid has an amazing "handle". The ball appears as if its on a string attached to his hand.

Darn shame the kid missed that corner three after that behind-the-back pass from Mulcahy.

At worst I am confident that he can back Baker up at the "1" for 10 minutes a game and I won't have the same stress level that I have now.

I sure hope our other guys learn to keep their eyes open and hands up.
This is a good point. Players might be getting smacked in the face with passes they were not expecting in some early practices

I agree with this as well. There are passes he can throw to an athlete like Mathis that his HS teammates wouldn't be able to get to. He's not going to all of a sudden have terrible vision and not be a good passer. Everyone turns it over I am not overly concerned with Mulcahey taking care of the ball

His passing is much better than Caleb's. This is not a knock on Caleb but Paul is by far the best passing high school player I have ever seen and I have attended high school games since I believe 1956.
I didn't get to see Kyrie Irving play in H.S. as I had relocated..........but really?

Kyrie's handle is more impressive than his passing IMO. There are highlights posted of most of Mulcahey's games and his vision and passing just jump out at you

One thing I noticed is that he always tries to finish with his right hand, even on the left side of the rim. Definitely needs to improve his handle going left.

His vision is outstanding though. I think right now I'd peg it 30/70 that he starts at PG, with him being the 30 and Geo being the 70. There's some stuff to clean up (as with every incoming recruit) and it'll probably depend on his progress over the summer.
