Enough of the woe is me. Lets discuss some of the better buzzer beaters in RU history.
1. G Billet hits runner in paint to beat Georgetown in B.E. quarterfinals.
2. Damon Santiago hits turnaround 3 at buzzer to complete 20 point comeback in last 8 minutes to beat Pitt on the road.
3.Earl Johnson hits buzzer beater 3 to beat WVU on the road completing comeback after trailing by 5 With less than 8 seconds to play.
4. G. Billet hits bucket while falling down to beat Notre Dame on the road. I recall him raising his arms in triumph while lying on his back on the floor.
5. Lamizana drills 3 to beat Providence at the buzzer from about 27 feet off feed from Douby who dribbled up court with only a few seconds to play and 2 guys draped all over him.
6. Webb hits 3 at buzzer to take Cuse to overtime at the Carrier Dome. Unfortunately, despite Farmer giving RU, the 2 point lead hitting a 3 With about 10 seconds left in OT, Cuse hit a 3 with 3 seconds left to beat us anyway...

I dont recall the year or the opponent, but didnt Jimmie Inglis bank in a 3 pointer from the top of the key to either win or tie a game at the buzzer?

Vs Villanova at RAC in 2006. We ended up losing in OT

Didn't Sanders have a last second put back in the tournament last year? Fans have selective memories.

Earl Johnson with an ugly 3 that clanged off the rim and went in to beat St Johns at the MSG in 1997 49-47

Lot of good one here

The georgetwon big east tournamwnt win is my favorite ...we got to right to earn to wear the home uniforms that day by beating national ranked West Virginia in the opening round ...and Georgetown upsetting Miami

They didn't even bring the home unis for the trip. They had to send someone back to the RAC to get them.

Earl Duncan with finger roll in traffic to beat Kenny Green and URI at Palestra in A-10 Tourney. He switched to left hand to narrowly avoid the block by Green.

Any of several frenetic comebacks to beat OSU in triple OT, at Holiday Festival. I think 7 or 9 points in last 90 seconds, then another 5 points in OT.

One of greatest games ever.

Lamizana’s shot against Providence had me leap up (I use the term loosely) from my aisle seat in 113 and land on the edge of the aisle step thereby severely rolling my ankle and falling to the ground. The crowd in the aisle is probably what kept be from rolling down 10 step and almost onto the court...and perhaps making Sports Center. I could hardly walk for a month...ah, memories.

IIRC - we were down 7 with 14 seconds to play. Absolutely one of the greatest games ever!

How could I forget. I was broadcasting that game for Wrsu but our location was above the green seats. The players looked like ants and the binoculars were used all day. Tough way to do play by play. Totally agree one of the best games ever as we overcame Kelvin Ramsey’s I think 35 points and Herb Williams. We had a real good team in 78-79 and really thought we would have given Michigan State a run for their money in the Final Four before we were tragically upset by St. John’s. I had PTSD for 10 years after that game even though I didn’t even know what is was.

LOL

No pain, no gain!

I bet it was probably worth it.

Heck, if we could make such sacrifices to get the win, I’m sure there would have been ~7500 sprained ankles last Saturday night.

Geoff Billet beat Monmouth with a buzzer beater at the RAC. I think it was his freshman year with Wenzel.

LOL. MSG was not too kind to us WRSU broadcasters! What a great tournament as well, as OSU upset Duke and we beat the Johnnies for the second time that year (unfortunately there was no third time) to set up the final. Good memory, as Ransey had 38 and Jammin' James had 31. They were named co-MVPs of the tourney.

Yes, I believe it was a quarterfinal game.
I think Duncan also hit a halfcourt shot to win at UMass. This was before the days of every game on tv. Heard it on the radio.

I believe Greg Echenique laid in a buzzer beater to win a hideous early-season game against Drexel back in ‘08.

In Herve's first season we beat G'town. I don't remember if Herve hit a game winner or not, but it was his coming out party and when it was clear that Waters had the team Playing, with a capital P. Given another year, GW woudl have gotten us to the tourney. What an effing s show basketball has been since, until now.
