Went out in the City tonight for a nice dinner (Ocabanon's French bistro near MSG) and to see Interpol with Car Seat Headrest and Snail Mail at the Garden. DVRed the game and just finished watching without any knowledge of how it would end. OMFG, what a way to lose. I also like covering the inbounder, but still, they get lucky on the tip and even luckier on the shot - there's just no way we they should have won that game at the end. I think I might have cried if I had been there tonight.

On the bright side, Iowa played very well tonight and you know what? We matched their play. We're a pretty good basketball team, especially when we give 110% on defense and share the ball nicely on offense. Dammit.

One of the most painful I can ever remember. We had the game when Baker makes that shot. How the ball got to that Iowa guy in the corner and how he banked it in was just so rough.
For a team that turns the ball over too much, struggles with free throws, rarely scares anyone from 3, and is loaded with rookies...these guys are easy to root for. and make one really optimistic and interested in the future of Rutgers basketball.
And to help with the pain of the loss I got to watch Mulcahy and GSB beat Ranney on TV tonight. He's a quality player who will make us even stronger next year.

I don't know if I've ever been at an RU men's basketball game that was this tough a loss against a Top 25 team. And I've been a season ticket holder for many years. The team played with passion and matched Iowa all night. Proud of the team's effort and ability against a Top 25 team. It took a miracle shot and some bad calls by the refs to beat them. GO RU!

How was Car Seat Headrest? When I saw them a few years ago, they were so-so. No stage presence.

Thought they were great, in their short set (~30 min). Seemed very energetic to me - really want to see them where they're the main act in a much smaller setting. The biggest plus (and only one, probably) for the Garden is that they truly know how to do sound nearly perfectly there. Interpol, in particular, sounded fantastic (although they're known for their lack of stage presence - but that doesn't bother me, as I'm there to hear their songs - reminds me a lot of a New Order show).
