Yes next year seems promising with Doorson our only Senior, but what about the present? Had the game won until we didn’t...

Another key to the loss was that Harper only took one shot in the second half after scoring 14 points in the first half.Heart breaking loss for the coaching staff, players and fans. This game in front of a sellout crowd game had all the excitement of big time college basketball which will be remembered for a long time.

Truth that the big ten is pathetic. Newsflash, we couldn’t hardly win a game when we were in the Big East, now in a total build we are a game from .500 in year 3 of a new coach and are in shape to have a bye in the tournament which we hadn’t done in the big east in how many years, and will have a better shot of making the NCAAs next year as we’ve had in 20 years.

I like to see Harper lose some of that baby fat in the off season, I think that would have a night and day difference in his game.

All of our Freshman could use some offseason training and they will get it. I see a leaner Harper, and bigger McConnell and Mathis, and a more toned Johnson and Carter. Lots of promise with these guys.

The Big East is not a real conference anymore because all the member institutions were too weak to support major college athletics. You were fortunate to find a stable slot. And you will take advantage of your charitable invitation and continue to prosper as an institution and even enjoy successful seasons in athletics. Iowa survives relegation by putting up numbers in a deep league.

A team from the "not real conference anymore" has won two of the last three mens' championships while the Big Ten has a goose egg dating back a number of years.

Exactly, the big east wasn’t full of great athletic departments and yet we were terrible, losing by 30 wasn’t unusual, now we show up to the big ten and all of a sudden we’re winning games, and being closely competitive with the top teams in the conference magically? I’m not impressed off the bat here and once Rutgers has a full funded membership in about 5 years (only way to compare apples to apples), I think lots of you corn folk will be shocked

You're welcome, Luke. Talk flyover **** about Iowa, go ahead. Being the fifth best show in your own town is not an advantage in college athletics. You were invited for the cable dollars and haven't succeeded athletically and you're already prospering. Be patient.

And each of them need to shoot at least 10,000 FT's in the off season so we don't lose a game next year on the line.

South Jersey/Philly, I dig it. You aren't Villanova. You weren't great then and you've never been. Watch how many teams the Big Ten gets in the tourney. You are on that gravy train.

Hilarious - "full funded membership." You know who's not subsidized in the Big Ten? Every other member institution. You're admitting you need us. And you're prospering. You will win tonight's game probably next year.

Didn’t say squat about Iowa. And by the way, how much did your payout increase since you “ invited “ us?

Wrong. I am Villanova and remember well beating your asses by 25 in 2016. I also follow in my home state. Great win tonight.

Not enough to matter with the status quo at the time. Now, arms race days, thanks for joining. Delaney is a genius, there's no doubt. But we were going to do well with our without. IDK if you recall, you joined the Big Ten. We were already there. You should (if you have the means and are a big fan) block off the weekend RU finally visits Iowa for a football game. It's a warm weather month.

You're way cooler than most Villanova folks if you also follow Rutgers. Those guys are douchebags. They think outsiders are impressed by the exclusivity of their situation as if they were Ivy League.

Excuse me but one team from that conference won championships. By your logic from 1964 until 1975 the PAC-10 was the best conference in the country as one team won 11 National Championships.
Six teams in the AP Top 25 illustrates the quality of the B1G 10.

1. Shot was one in a million
2. Missed free throws, esp by Mathis, killed us
3. We are on the national radar.
4. Next year...it’s on.
This one hurts bad.
But you're right. The future looks pretty good.
Who was it that said "the best thing about freshmen is they become sophomores" ?

I like that Iowa is here, I feel like the game got under their skin a bit. Rivalries are fun and I feel like we'll get better back and forth than we got from the old northeast/BE fans

Doesn't Fran get roasted if that ball deflects out of bounds with no shot attempt?

On #2 above, did you happen to see the effort and physical toll that Montez was expending at the defensive end busting his *** and not giving Bohanon any space at all. Not going to make any excuses for Montez but the defensive job he did may have been the best effort I have seen exhibited defensively by a RU player.

He shouldn't. His guy did exactly what he was supposed to do - keep the play alive, don't let the pass get picked off. After that, it's just a matter of getting lucky.
