both teams are hungover from the last game

shows you far we have to come
Two bottom tier league teams showing the reason why .Northwestern stinks and Rutgers has no offense to take advantage of their futility. This could be another winnable game which Rutgers let get away.

exactly. The refs saw then "jawing". They cpuld have blown a whistle and come up and warned both sides. That would have been fair. But they wait for the NW to bump Kiss and then call a double T? That's BS.

Yep. Every time that balding ref shows up at the RAC you know we're going to get a good old-fashioned f*ck job without the Vaseline.

He is brutal and absolutely hates us.

Why does pikiell just agree to play at whatever pace the opponent wants to? Why is he so opposed to setting the tempo?

You do not need to be planted to the floor to have position.
Only if they go vertical or the offensive players move is egregious. While a weak move dez didn’t barrel in and the defender wasn’t sliding into position he was just backing away. Bad call imo.

We pushed the ball on a few possessions and the offense looked much better.

Northwestern is playing great defense thats why....they only turned it over 5x and RU turned it over like 7-0 at the beginning and so its not wise to push the tempo like that. I dont want to see RU start forcing things and then NW gets their own transition, thats how they scored early on.

I am okay with the pace, we just need better shot selection. RU was doing well at 22-16 on a 14-3 run until they just were awful on offense with shot selection and too many outside shots. I just do not think we are working to take the right shot and make the right pass

there is no excuse to not win this game. It would be a disappointing loss for the program

I completely agree with you. We played one of our worst halves of the season and we are right there. We need to come out and make good decisions with the ball and stop with the poor shot selection.

There is no reason we should not win this game. It's right there for us. This is another step forward game.

Got to do it. Let's gooooool!!!!

Ps - f*ck the refs...they suck!!

In hindsight how did Rutgers score 90 points against Illinois when their norm is around 64 points? It must have been a aberration .

That might be the ugliest half of bball ive watched all year

Just caught up on the DVR - yeah, that was pretty ugly on both sides. They have 6 TOs and 16 boards, while we kind of cancel that with 10 TOs and 22 boards. Both teams shooting an abysmal 34% (and combined 4-10 FTs). Like the first game, I actually think we're the better team, but we need to play better than that to win on the road. I'd give Thiam another chance as I liked his energy in the first half and Kiss was killing us with bad plays, but nobody is playing that well, to be fair.

I think Baker and Montez can beat their guards in the paint but can they finish. I think we need to stop taking 3s....1-10 is just gross

no, it shouldn't be "stop shooting 3 point shots". it should be "start making 3 point shots"

The announcers are struggling to explain these officials. Same old story with these crews.

Coach needs to follow the Schiano approach and start sending letters to the league...multiple letters after every game. This is insane and has to stop.
