I think we turn it around. Wesson is just having a career game to be honest

We're down so I'm going to start posting and see if that changes our luck in the second half.

OSU is hitting everything and unconscious with the no turnovers. They go a little cold and begin making mistakes llike everyone does we could make this a game. Saw some questionable calls but they get the home calls we don't.

If Wesson cools off, I think we're in good shape. If not, they may just bury us.

Ohio State ZERO TURNOVERS
Wow, hadn't noticed that - that's almost impossible. And we only had 4, which is low for us. Biggest difference in the game to me is shooting. They're 7-15 from three and 4-4 from the line, while we're 2-8 from three and 5-10 from the line. 2 more FTs for us and 2 less threes by them (in line with more normal shooting) and it's a tie game.

8 fouls on them vs. 5 on us, so that's not an issue.

all in all considering the stats, we are lucky to be down only 8, 37-29.

OSU is playing extremely well...0 turnovers, shooting 13-28, 7-15 from 3, 4-4 ft, Wesson 21 points,

I think RU seemed to settle down and get better looks on offense after a bad stretch in the middle.

I dont think we are out of the game, obviously the first 5 minutes are important. I am sure Pike has something up his sleeve to stop Wesson

here is the problem though....with Montez, Geo and Harper only getting 6 points between them, its hard to win. RU needs to finish at the rim. Doorson is actually our 2nd leader scorer with 5.

I’m amazed listening to the OSU feed how unbiased their guys are. Like the last play that you guys are saying Kiss got fouled on the last 3 before half. They immediately said the same thing that it should have been called.

It’s like listening to a neutral set of announcers. Makes it enjoyable.

Up 5-8 in fouls. Guess they figure Wesson is so hot, they can pick this half to throw us a bone

Of course no foul but would like to have seen Geo drive there at the end instead of half court 3. Maybe draw a foul even.

we constantly flub that last possesion when we have 7-8 second left, too much indecision, there is plenty of time to get a better shot than a 28 ft 3.

Only important stat of the game is Wesson. Kid is playing out of his mind. Limit him in the 2nd and maybe they have a chance. Btw, if anyone watches Wesson when the ball isn’t in his hands, I can see why he’s normally in foul trouble. Kid sets the most blatant moving screens, every possession. Refs are just letting both teams play today

Key stat....we are outrebounding them 19-12 and incredible 8-2 on the offensive boards....thats why we are in the game...need to keep it up

however 5-10 at the line is not good...three guys took shots and they are all 50% including Eug at 3-6 that will not cut it...make 3 more and we are only down 5..come on guys

(Positive outlook) - it’s only and 8 point game, and tosu had ZERO turnovers in that half, and 1 guy had 21!! points, of their 37, half of that from the 3. And we only hit 2 threes and Kiss played a lot. Only Shaq carter in foul trouble. I’m excited for this second half, it’s prime for the taking!!

PIKIELL WHY THE **** IS PETER KISS IN. Doesnt even go for rebounds in traffic
Pike I need an explanation for why kiss is taking minutes from ron harper. Please sir
Constantly attacking Kiss. If he hits two of his open threes he's the star of the half. Regardless, he's not the reason we're down. Geo needs to shoot when he's 10 feet from the basket, and having to defend Wesson outside, Doorson just stinks. The kid has 21 at the half. Is Carter in foul trouble?

Can anyone explain that hook and hold call? If anything it should have been either called on Wesson or just a no call....so of course it gets called on Carter

Mathis, Baker and Harper combined for 43 last time vs OSU, today in the first half have 6 combined, OSU turned it over 13 times the last meeting

The difference in the game is that Ohio State made 7 three point shots while Rutgers only made 2 three pointers. When an opponent scores at their average or better Rutgers is in big trouble because they simply can't match baskets.Baker was invisible until making a 3 pointer in the last minutes of the first half.Missed foul shots also contributed to the 37-29 deficit.

Let’s see if the refs give us a make-up call early in the second half. That was an obvious foul on the Kiss 3-pointer.

Kiss gets out of position on D, lets off open shots, causes our d to rotate which allows the other team open looks. He really does nothing well

Kiss is also taking minutes from Harper which is completely inexplicable. Pike better change it up

Peter Kiss shot 8 for 15 three point shots in his first 4 games of the year.
53 %. He is really struggling now with his confidence. The coach is playing him to try and bring his confidence back. Unfortunately he is 0-3 in this game. It is very frustrating watching his poor shooting but give the kid a little bit of a break, this is his first year at Rutgers. Time will tell if he develops his game and his confidence.

I don't want to see Peter Kiss in the second half. Maac level player.

WTF is up with the Peter Kiss bashing? He had open looks for three's and a few just rimmed out and he was fouled right before half.

There is one guy in this thread obsessed with bashing Peter Kiss. What an Idiot

On Kiss, can’t sit everybody - Doucore, Issa, etc. That first corner 3 was spot on - rattled in and out. Should have been shooting 3 FTs on the last one.

Rutgers needs 3 point snipers. You cannot compete in this league if you cannot shoot. 2-8 from 3 versus 7-15 for Ohio State.

Recruiting shooters out of HS or Junior college transfers must be a priority.

We should keep in mind that he does have the highest overall shooting percentage and the second highest three point shooting percentage among the guards and wings on the team.

His defense is much better than you think, and he's been a good rebounder for us late in games along with hitting shots at critical junctures. And Pikiel thinks he's RU's best three point shooter. And you say he' not good at anything - couldn't be further from the truth. We're down for two reasons - Geo looks afraid to shoot and Doorson couldn't cover a tree.
