Yes, yes, we won, and awesome! But was anyone else going absolutely bonkers that we kept missing layups in the last couple of minutes? The game shouldn't have been in doubt at all. I think Johnson missed an easyone, and Gene missed one off a beautiful pass.

Yes. It felt like we were letting the game slip away. Good thing we had a substantial lead or it could have been meltdown material.

There were three possessions where I felt if we converted two of them we put the game away: Kiss missed three, Johnson missed layup and Gene missed layup after the beautiful feed. I felt like we really cracked open the door for them.

Agreed. Carter missed one too.

Montez missed an easy dunk as well. There have been, and there will be, games where those missed layups will hurt.

Harper also got stripped from behind on a breakaway and we were lucky to keep possession... it looked like it went off him.

I agree with the sentiment. They have to start finishing around the rim, not just at end of games but in the first half, alot of easy looks last two games. In fairness they are still learning and are young. Might rather have the ball in Geo's hands trying to draw a foul in the last 2-3 minutes than try to get it inside. I think Myles isnt ready yet to be consistent enough. He was in the Nebby game, it will come

I’m not sure that I would characterize them as “gimmes”...they were well contested for the most part and the players were a little too far under the basket for an easy shot however it was still disappointing. The missed dunk is a different story...must be made!

Were you the dude screaming at the players about this behind us in section 115?

From about the time there was 12 mins left and RU was up 12 I was staring at the clock just wishing it would tick down faster... the last 5-6 mins were incredibly long.

not overly concerned...sorry. It happens eveywhere and hasn't been a huge issue except for this game. It has been a problem in the past.

was more concerned with the FT shooting. It was lousy.
This is one of the most maddening things to me. How can players at this level not be better at an uncontested shot in the paint? Other than Geo, I just shake my head when we get to the line,

I think we have fans have been conditioned to think that Rutgers is going to blow it. We have years of evidence, so of course we are fearing the worst is going to happen. Things are changing around here and we are going to have to adapt
We made two important stops after missing those chippies, that’s another way to win the game.

We literally have one of the youngest teams in the country, we are on a three game winning streak in the B1G, you guys have to learn how to relax - maybe yoga or meditation or something :)
I teach yoga and can attest to the benefits of yogic breathing AND being a Rutgers fan.

That may be true, but I had some clown pants sitting behind me and there is no way I wanted to give them the satisfaction of escaping with a win.

We did seem to make closing out that win harder than it should have been. Got to finish more of those. Kiss and EO missing two each from the line also contributed. EO was great from the line a game earlier. Geo was money from the line last night.

Ask if you can teach a breathing/foul shooting yoga instruction class. It can't hurt. My brother-in-law, a psychologist, did that with the RU FB team for a few years.

Some of our guys have almost no court awareness when attempting what appears to be an under the basket layup.
Looks like practice. I think it was Johnson who could have dunked, but instead had the ball blocked and taken away late in the game. I actually wonder if he can jump.

Very critical, this isn’t Saturday pick up at the Y.
You’re talking about the best collegete players in the world here..there’s a lot more to it when 6-10 250 pound elite athletes are pounding you and slapping at the ball

I think the guys have almost zero experience playing with a double digit lead against a good, B1G level team, so it's somewhat understandable. (I think the answer is... just play. However it may be harder to do that than we think.)

Either way, they're learning. This experience will breed future success

Was screaming at the top of my lungs in agony, and pulling my hair out, on these two plays (plus on the Harper strip on the breakaway, and the Mathis blown dunk) (oh, and the endgame when Kiss just cradled the ball waiting to get fouled, except IU got the held ball call) (and the two missed FTs by Kiss).

But then ecstatic whenever we would do something good, and when we held on for dear life and won the game.

My 13-1/2 year old son called me bipolar. And if you only knew me from observing me watch a Rutgers game, you'd think he was right. Enjoying the build, is all...

When you saw Gio get the inbounds pass, avoid the trap and dart to other side of the court before they grabbed him, it was like...victory

Yes, I was concerned. But I was also concerned about our FT shooting. Thank god, Geo was on last night. He was 8-8 from the charity stripe. IMO, Geo should be an 80% FT shooter and the other guys should be much better than they are showing. I'll admit that when Kiss missed those two FT's I was pissed. He made up for it by good defense at the other end and was rewarded with a long pass thrown to him which led to his dunk.

I assume loss until the 3 men in stripes leave the floor and RU score still > Opponent score
