Although this is really important for the program, it is just a small step. Indiana is vulnerable and if things were different right now, we would still be looking at this game as a possible win.
Go RU.

January was not a good month for many teams and the conference.

Agreed ...when people we’re saying 9-10 teams from the big ten, I was like ...the bottom is gonna not be so low, and with 20 game there is gonna be a lot of teams with double digit losses that the committee has to look at

Think 7...except for last year ...we have got 7 a lot of years since the confrence went to 14

It’s hard to be on the bottom half of any power five confrence and justify a NCAA bid

PAST, PRESENT and FUTURE
B1G hates us when we drag the conference down with pathetic play in the past.

B1G hates us when we beat all the potential bubble teams and take a bid away from the conference.

b1G will love us if we can ever turn the program around

Everybody loves a Cindarella story. BTN is already talking us up now at 3-6; I can't imagine what the juice will be like if we continue winning games and become an 8 or 9 seed in the B1G tourney.

Take it from a Northwestern fan, nobody hates you when they're beating up on you. On the other hand, they do hate you when they assume it's their divine right to beat you, and then you start beating them.

This is why I think the 20 game schedule is bad for the B1G.

No way we come close to 10 teams making the tournament unless the bottom 4 teams can’t beat anyone above them.
And unless all other conferences truly suck (and why be dependent on them for that to happen?)

Just too many losses beating each other up.

Hate the 20 game schedule, mainly for this reason.

Here is the thing. These teams like osu nebby and indy have strong ooc so they are right there on the bubble.

I think osu gets in and big ten gets 8

Well, they played 18 games last year and only got four teams in because the conference was down and people ripped on some of the schedules. Nebraska had a 13-5 B1G record and didn't make the tourney. Teams are going to beat up on each other, but this schedule also gives each team a greater opportunity for what they're calling Quad 1 and Quad 2 wins now. If you're a good team that had a rocky start in the league such as Iowa and Minnesota, it gives you more of a shot at righting the ship and putting up a good resume.

If Nebraska was 15-5 (or 14-6) in conference last year, how much would that have helped?
(Unless the extra 1 or 2 wins were against ranked conference teams)

Seems like maybe they needed better OOC wins on their resume?
Or stronger OOC schedule?
Or avoided bad losses?
Or finished with a better record in their last 10 games?

The prospect of Rutgers going 13-5 (or 14-6, or 15-5) conference and not making the tournament is frightening! (And ridiculous)
