We’re out of the basement. Penn St has no chance at winning four games. Pike has beaten 4 of the bottom 6 of the conference with still 10(?) games to play. Great win for Rutgers. He figured out how his guys fit together and it will pay dividends next year when he returns virtually the same team. This team excels in transition and plays the patented Pike D he instilled from Day 1.

Really great feeling. Although I always thought he would succeed it *seems* he will be doing it quicker than I thought. Awesome stuff.

There's value in being competitive again. Especially for us fans.

Very interested to see how we do against a good team now. It was always that we could hang with good teams but were inconsistent or consistently mediocre against lesser teams... now finally figuring out how to win those really winnable games. Will we be able to play our game against better teams too?

The crowd behind the benches is so disappointing...they only make noise when Pikiell and the players prompt them.

It would be so nice to get students there...but, it will never happen.

Students will come now that they have reason. Historically it takes a lot to get the students to show because Rutgers tends to be let down. They won’t just rush to the stadiums now because usually it’s a one off.

Now we need to reward them next home game. You do that and goodwill is earned.

I had front row seats behind the Rutgers bench as a student and it was so much fun. Too bad they tossed that idea for the extra money, even if it was clearly needed.

At some point we're going to put it together and beat somebody like Michigan State. Then that will be when things get really interesting.

First few minutes it didn’t seem like we’d get anything going inside on Indiana tonight, at all. Clearly turnovers didn’t help in that span, but what adjustments did the team make to start opening up the floor and getting to the rim? Was great to see the team win tonight.

Sojo,
You’ve been realistic and tough on Pike for the last couple of years, it’s good to see you be able to own the other side of it.

I’ll take the opposing viewpoint this time though and say that we look very average and I can easily see why we’re capable of being blown out by 20 on any given night. We play some dumb ball at times and have poor ball coordination, which leads to a lot of turnovers.

Good win today - let’s keep this thing moving in the right direction .

Yes this is certainly the more likely case but that’s ok. I didn’t think we would climb out of the basement. We’re defitnely out.

I always said Pike was a good coach. But people were saying post season play. Some not all. The fact is recruiting has not been good enough to get to that point and 2020 needs to be a class that raises our benchmark. He has everything at his disposal in order to accomplish that. He’s just got to do it.

My fear THIS season was that the roster would not be strong enough for him to get results and maintain goodwill that would help solidify that 2020 class. Not worried about that any longer.

the growth of a program is judged against the similar competition around you. RU is now 4-1 vs those schools, losing Nwstern sucked but we can avenge that one. You have to start by beating those teams first and then picking off some bigger fruits later...thats how Nwstern did it two years, Penn State came close next year. There is always that one spot in the Big 10 for a lesser team to take care of business and start moving up in the standings

I agree to get where they eventually want to get that 2020 needs to be big....for starters a Eugene replacement
