Let's get 3 more and get to 6 total. That would be huge for us. Double our B1G win total. Not finish last.

Adding Young and Mulcahy next year. .500 overall.

Year after :cool2: (dancing).

I never understood why people say take them one at a time when on a fan message board. Isn’t that the point of being a fan? We aren’t the players or coaches so it’s OK to look ahead and make predictions
Haha 100000% agree. Were allowed to look ahead

We have 11 games left. If we can win just 4 more than would be a tremendous feat when you look at our schedule. Look, I had us at 3-15 in B1G play, i didnt have high expectations and I still dont. But below I ranked games on a scale of 1-10 winnability, 1 being highly unlikely, 10 being a lock, 5 being a coin flip.

I want this Indiana game because they are reeling and i would like to keep the momentum rolling..a win would be another milestone moment in the rebuild. Predicted 5-15...i think realistically 6-14 is a goal. Games get tougher. The lesser opponents are on the road. RU can steal a win at Northwestern or upset Minny/Iowa at the RAC. PSU at home becomes almost a must win but will still be tough

I would put Indiana at 6 and Iowa at 5. Those plus PSU could be a totally sick ending to the regular season and I’d sign up in a heartbeat

Good analysis, but I would put NW at 3 and Minny at 4. Every away game is 3 or less, and I think Eugene playing against Minny changes that game at home.

I do think you’re correct that Michigan, MSU and Iowa on the road are as close to unwinnable as it gets.

But the other eight games are in the “winnable” category, from 3 to 7 ratings. I’m hoping for four more wins, but two should be considered the minimum.

In terms of home and away, PSU is a must win at home, and hoping for two more against IU and Iowa/Minny at home. Also hoping to pick off Illinois or NW on the road.

7-13 overall would be really nice progress, but I just don’t know if we have enough offensive consistency to win four more games.

I like how Rutgers is playing physical against the B1G teams. It seems to impact how teams are responding and they are playing soft. Both coaches for Nebraska and State Penn stated this in their post-game press conference. Perhaps that will lead to more victories. I do believe Rutgers wins at Northwestern due to this new found confidence and style of play.

Iowa has 3 point shooters fully capable of scoring 80 points.Bad match up for Rutgers.

Absolutely. But some people sound really silly when they proclaim greatness ahead after a win or two or that the sky is falling after a loss or two. Debating it is great, but how many people joined the "I don't see where we get another Big Ten win" crowd just days ago?

So I will say zero. That way every single win is a pleasant surprise and I won't be disappointed again. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

To start with every home game is a winnable game and that includes Michigan. Yeah , it is unrealistic to assume we can beat them but Wisconsin just did and we match up like Wisconsin . Although objectively , Michigan is a 3, Indiana is a 6 as they have lost 6 in a row, Iowa has talent and shooters but Pike outcoached Fran last year and their lack of defense allows us to have more open shots and that is a 5, Minnesota is a 5 as well as we were within 5 for 32 minutes and let them get out in transition, which is unlikely it will happen at the RAC , and Penn State is a 7 right now considering the direction of both seasons. Coach has to protect his home turf, the loss to Northwestern was terrible , and Maryland got away from us in the first half. Michigan State was toe to toe . So no Big 10 team should be coming into the RAC optimistic in their chances , now that the team has a little momentum. The freshman usually play better at home so that helps Geo and Eugene . Road wins happen so rarely but at Northwestern, at Illinois and at Indiana ( last game of the year) we have a 3-4 chance. We are a very physical tall team and if some shots drop we can get them as well . 4-7, 5-6 or 6-5 over the last 11 are in play and realistic. Geo has to and must score 15-20 every game to give us a chance. We have to continue to pound the ball inside , despite missing a ton of layups yesterday.

Why can’t we go 8-3 and sniff the bubble ?
Every year teams come out of nowhere and make a run. Why can’t it be us? We don’t need to stink forever

I am putting NO limits on what can happen

I see a team that all of the sudden has 3 double digit scorers on the floor and a center spot that in 40 minutes has realistic scoring 10 plus per game ...scoring balance

Think we will be playing a lot of competitive basketball games for the remainder of the year and while I don’t knjw how many we can get...I won’t be surprised by our record being anywhere between 5-15 (2 wins) and 9-11 (6 more win.

Continue to play for this year while making every minute on the court valuable experience for Next year ...where I really think we have a shot to dance

Because a Program involves the team, the coaches, students, fan base and a lot of other people as well. A program’s mentality is a collective of all of these groups.

If we have fans looking down the road and students looking down the road.... you bet we’re going to have some members of the team doing so as well - especially once their peers get in their ear.

If you don't play physical in the B1G, you're going to get rolled. This has been true since I was a kid, which was a long time ago. There's a reason PSU is 0-9 so far and Nebraska is slumping lately. Back in the '60s, B1G teams would have a terrible time if they went East to play because they were used to physical play and Eastern refs at that time called a foul if you breathed heavily on someone. That changed over the years, especially when the Big East turned into the clobbering conference when they experimented with six fouls for disqualification.
