You guys really overestimate our talent. Our two best shooters were 2-12 from three but somehow this is Pike’s fault. This is why I tried to say not to get excited about the Miami win or coming close against Wisconsin. And here come the fire Pike people. All of you are a riot. We’re a young team with two guys who can score. It’s going to be a bumpy road. But hey, some of you think we can get 8-9 conference wins

Actually, Seels thinks we can win 12 conference games and be on the NCAA bubble. The delusion is strong with some of you.
And that’s why we have people mad at Pike. Very weird. The sky is falling the sky is falling. No, we’re just an average team that played like crap today. We need Young and Mulcahy. That will help Geo a lot next year
Fordhams guard went 10-17 for 30pts was on fire today...
Baker was 5-16 for 14pts
Fordham played a tight 2nd half...and Rutgers was very sloppy

Maybe, just maybe the reason terrible teams have 1 player go crazy and get their career highs on us is because we do a terrible job scouting, don't make any in-game adjustments and are terrible?
The Fordham player is from Orlando. Ive seen him play. He could be playing for a number of teams but few scouted him.
Pike has done in game adjustments. If you have another candidate for coach(that would COME here) feel free to email Hobbs.

No one wants to fire Pike, saying that is ludicrous, and no one thought we would win 8-9 conference game either. But you're right, maybe some overrate the talent a little, but we had more talent than Fordham today. That's a fact.
I agree that some fans over estimate the talent on the team and that Baker and Eugene are the biggest scoring threats but even they have long scoring droughts.The fire Pikiell comment is ridiculous and fans really need to stop mentioning Rutgers as a young team.Fordham freshmen destroyed Rutgers today which tells me talent of the player is more important than how much experience they have in college.
Talent improving under Pike, coaching a heck of a lot better for Rutgers since Waters left
Can't expect a powerhouse when you're building a program that was a bottom feeder before and a losing proposition since 2006
I expect to see this team play competitively at times to give its fan the impression it just about has arrived.
Then fall flat on its face making its fans worry how good a coach Pike is and think the roster is shorter on talent than it realy is.
The season is still young and ( my opinion) we can count on peaks and valleys from this team.
Not having a true point guard makes for inconsistencies and some games that have the team look great , then the next game it looks like a totally different team on the floor and one we're not happy with.
I expect by the end of this season we'll be feeling fairly confident Pike is building a good program , even if it doesn't make post season play.

This was all about coaching, especially in the second half, and our staff’s FAILURE to affect the game the way their staff did. What don’t you get about that?

Poor performance no doubt. However, I’m choosing to be patient. Next year is the real test. If he can’t get us above 500 and 7 or 8 conference wins then we can start sounding alarm bells.
I love our head coach, I really do, but plain and simple he just got outcoached today for whatever reason and I’m just calling him out on it as I see it.
he had us in the NIT/NCAA with Jordan too, there are a bunch of posters here who have had us winning 8 conference games for the past 5 years
Just like the Wisconsin’s of the world have a tuff time bringing it against the Rutgers of the world, Rutgers is not going to bring it every night. Anyone that didn’t think this had trap written all over hasn’t been paying attention. We barely beat bu. They can ill afford to not bring it each and every night because they aren’t THAT good. But this result is not surprising
