AND ... no one talking hoops. I think they do it 15 minutes before the game. Wasn’t there a thread a few days ago that we’re a basketball school. Wow, our flagship radio station talks hoops 15 minutes before tip off. Pretty pathetic if you ask me. Glad we have TKR !

Well, for an educational institution, there not very smart on the marketing end of things in my opinion. How do you get fans interested? You talk about it for more than 15 minutes before tip off. In my opinion again- PATHETIC!

They can't find some minutes to talk Rutgers basketball on the school radio station?

Considering Devils and Islanders games are now exclusively streaming online, we should be lucky we’re on big time radio at all.
Well, Rutgers pays WOR to broadcast games. I’m not sure of the financial arrangement with WCTC.

WCTC use to have a longer show before each game and at least an hour after each game. Those times are long gone. If we start winning hopefully WCTC will have a longer pre game and go back to a post game show. Times have changed.

it used to be a half hour before the game, I dont know why they stopped it...I think WOR started the broadcast 15 minutes before....is it that bad at WCTC that they cannot have a sports guy do a 15 minute pre game show

I appreciate your post Knight!
Those “times” were when the fan base was terrific. The broadcasters were terrific. We weren’t winning very much but we were very excited about the program. I believe they also had a weekly call in show. You had to wait quite awhile to get on the air if at all. Guys like Skip, from Elizabeth. I believe much of the fan base today was from those “times”. I remember the day Rutgers received a commitment from Shawn Axani. It was announced on WCTC and it was like the whole basketball program was so excited! You’d think we just got Michael Jordan. It was talked about for weeks on the radio.
What better way is there then to promote your product and your program ? (please don’t say twitter). Maybe I’m old fashioned but I think Rutgers administrators are missing the boat on this one. For me, I’d rather listen to a commentator on a radio station with details and insight to an upcoming game before and after.

The pregame is useless as far as I am concerned because we are out of the car before then and heading to the rac or already in it. We listen to the show heading back to the shore as far as the Driscoll bridge before loosing the signal. We do enjoy the post game show.

WCTC can't afford to pay a sports guys and have people running the station for call in shows. That's why they mostly have gone syndication.

Is there a Knight Cap call in show this year? I tried to listen to it after a couple games, but after the 15 minute post game show it went to some political talk. Or is the call in show on a different station?

We got so bad that they probably couldn't sell enough advertising to keep the shows on longer.

Stream WCTC through Tune In app on your smartphone and you won't lose the signal. I connect that through my car stereo. Not as relevant for basketball with short postgame but I always do that when driving home from football games so I can listen to the Coach's press conference.
