I know someone posted that he's no longer listed on the G-league roster for Houston? Does anyone know what happened with him? This is not to create a "Corey should have stayed" thread. I'm just a fan wondering if he ended up signing with a team in Europe or somewhere? I know he signed a contract with the G-league team. Do they cut players as frequently as players come up to NBA teams for short periods?

Just trying to find him so I can follow his career. Really loved his game and appreciated his play at Rutgers and hope he makes it somewhere. Great kid!

Sad actually. We sat near some of his friends who said last year he just didn't want to stay in school anymore. He would have been so much better off had he stayed and gotten his degree. Sat next to his grandmother several times, too. She was over the top supportive. I think the whole family would have gained from his getting a college degree.

Yes, he can play overseas. The question is where and for how much. Lots of different levels over there. He could make $70k easy if he wants that lifestyle, not sure he does.s

Should have just had him take easiest classes this semester and next. I know it would take others minutes but he had that clutch ness down the stretch that we have yet to find on this team, we would have won these last 2 if he was still here

Just watching him handle his affairs makes me think he will be successful in the future. Hopefully, that includes getting his college degree. Wish him well. $$$$

I'm going to disagree with you.

Most overseas leagues are full of fundamentally sound guards. So a guy who struggles going left, has an inconsistent perimeter shot and is an occasional defender isn't a shoo-in for an overseas franchise.

You are getting a stellar education at a top notch university and you dont want to stay in school? Sad. A degree is a great leg up on life!

If you cant make it in the G league you basically out of basketball.

I hope an overseas team pick him up...employment options otherwise will be pretty scarce IMO

I'm guessing he can still come back and get his college degree. I'd hope that Rutgers would welcome that should he choose to do so.

Interesting to consider how the addition of CS would have affected last night’s game. If he insisted on the dominant role he had played last year, he’s a negative. If he adjusted to fit with the way the team is playing this year, a major plus.

From an enrollment perspective I'm sure they would have no issue. But would they make him pay tuition for his final two semester? That might be the issue

I don’t think another year in college would have changed anything. He’s still an athletic undersized guard who can’t shoot, is very weak to his left, and is not a point guard. That’s what he was when he got here and that what he was when he left.

If he had no intention of playing overseas, then he was really drinking some Koolaid. I hope he already had his mind made up to go pro and that his incedible B1G tournament wasn’t thee worst thing that could have happened to him.

Russ, I’m going to disagree with you. I’d say if Justin Robinson can play in France there’s no way there’s isn’t a team that Sanders couldn’t play for. And I acknowledge Sanders’ weaknesses.

Justin Robinson was a great 3 pt shooter. There is a big difference.

Never seemed to make sense coming from the people on this board. Every athlete thinks he’s a rapper, not sure why it seemed he could make money doing it just because he likes doing it.

It is sad that he came here after barely getting cleared by the NCAA, seemed to be making the most of his chance to get a degree, and then blowing it.

He actually has music on Apple Music and Spotify. Never listened to it, but in all honestly it's probably even harder to make it as a rapper than as a baller

(not because one requires more skill than the other, but in fact for the exact opposite reason)

The trouble with Corey playing overseas is that the world is full of guards that want to play professionally for a living. Big guys, not so much.

I think Corey reached his apex in basketball. He always seemed like a great athlete, but not a great basketball player. His sized and lack of length didn't really help.

I wish him the best, but he got some horrible advice. He was never going to be seen as a sure thing professional, in any league. The play was always to get his degree.

I am sure, provided he left in good standing, that he could come finish his degree, but now he would have to pay for it. He isn't on scholarship anymore and is deemed a professional.

It's the worst of all outcomes as it stands right now.
