Against any other team, maybe a discussion. But then again, JH has to play it this way this year. Michigan has been down on him and Michigan is just outside the playoff talk and looking in.Up 42 - 0 with 3 minutes left he challenges a PSU catch. All to preserve the shutout and stroke his ego. What a jerk!
Funny to think about the Harbaugh is a bum/overrated narrative from last year. Turns out winning is hard, no matter who you are, except maybe if your name is Saban.Against any other team, maybe a discussion. But then again, JH has to play it this way this year. Michigan has been down on him and Michigan is just outside the playoff talk and looking in.
This is the year he HAS to run up everything.
If he has us down big, he will not let up at all.
I don’t get how they’re outside playoff talk?Against any other team, maybe a discussion. But then again, JH has to play it this way this year. Michigan has been down on him and Michigan is just outside the playoff talk and looking in.

ND most likely takes a spot if they run the table. They will do anything possible to put Bama and Clemson in and that leaves one spot.I don’t get how they’re outside playoff talk?
Beat OSU and the winner of the West....no?
With LSU losing last night, the path just got a little clearer. Unless the dopes who vote let Jawja jump Michigan.I don’t get how they’re outside playoff talk?

When you may be one of 3 P5 teams fighting for that last spot, you run up the score.
B1G is considered way down this year.

We ran up the score on Louisville with SchianoHate to see just how much “that jerk” is going to run up the score on us.
Just once, I would love to see Rutgers be able to run up the score on a team.
Not Rutgers, we hire real loving gentlemen at Rutgers.
Would love for Rutgers to hire “that kind of a jerk” who can and will run up the score at will.
The closest we came to that was Schiano, which is why so many of us want him back.
Sagarin’s, which ignores blarney and possible TV ratings in favor of body of work, has Notre Dinero at #12. Sagarin has it this way: Alabama, Clemson, Michigan, Oklahoma, Georgia, Ohio State, LSU, Penn State, Iowa, Washington, Mississippi State.hard for committee to keep ND high while also downgrading Michigan. UM riding in ND slipstream
I had 80 points as well as PS hanging 80, rest 40 points.Hate to see just how much “that jerk” is going to run up the score on us.

There would be a lot of eyeballs on a rematch in the CFB semi or finalRecords matter. So until/unless they lose, ND deserves to be ranked ahead of Michigan.
That being said, Michigan would curb stomp ND if there was a playoff rematch.
Neither will happen. They will be 3 and 4 seeds with neither advancing. There would be a lot of eyeballs on a rematch in the CFB semi or final
Agree 100%.Neither will happen. They will be 3 and 4 seeds with neither advancing.
I hate him, but you know he was paying Franklin back for running it up last year.
Wait until next week with Michigan and the ball on our 25 yardline and 53 seconds to play with Michigan up 72-0 and he calls timeout to get the right personnel on the field to punch in one more in. You’ll really like him then.Up 42 - 0 with 3 minutes left he challenges a PSU catch. All to preserve the shutout and stroke his ego. What a jerk!

Harbaugh is not purposely running the score up on Rutgers. He has no reason to. He's never tried to in the 3 times we've played him. .
Harbaugh is not purposely running the score up on Rutgers. He has no reason to. He's never tried to in the 3 times we've played him. Nor do I ever recall him doing it to anyone for no reason (I know he did against USC when he could but he hated Carol). Harbaugh can be ruthless but you at least got to provoke him first. Ash isn't like Franklin and doesn't run his mouth about opponents (Like Franklin was doing about UM) and hasn't done anything to Harbaugh. What he did against PSU was clearly in retaliation to what PSU did to them last year (throwing the ball with 2 seconds left deep down field up 42-13). He did have the fake PAT 2 years ago but it was the 2nd quarter (27-0) and seemed to be something they discussed prior if given a certain look that we had a tendency to do on PATs. I don't believe you can "run up the score" in the first half regardless of what you do, though.
Also, if Michigan wins out they are in the playoff. Whether or not they beat Rutgers by 30 or 60 is irrelevant.
Even when they beat us 78-0, I believe they only threw the ball 3 times the entire second half and none of them were deep passes and he had his backups in the entire 2nd half. They didn't "run it up". They were better even into their 3 deep and our kids quit. They have their travel team so they can't get too deep into their bench but their 3rd string offense can still light us up on the ground and it not be running up the score. He will pull his starters early, he will run the ball and the clock majority of the second half. Whether or not we stop it is up to us. Hell just making them at least run 8+ plays a drive in the 2nd half will go a long way in keeping the total down because he won't be in a rush to snap the ball. They only got 78 because we were running hurry-up in combination with them scoring on running plays in just 3-4 plays all 2nd half. Also, he lost his backup QB this weekend so MAYBE they throw a bit more in the 2nd half to get reps for their new backup but I don't think it will be malicious. Our team needs to step up too.
If Harbaugh truly wanted he could win this game 150-0 and I'm not joking. I will be impressed with 5 first downs from our offense. He could leave his starters in and sling it around, run hurry up and score at will. The final score will likely be around 50-0 instead since he will do literally none of those things once it's wrapped up. The first half is going to be full-on.. I don't think any coach would take their foot off the gas in the 2nd quarter regardless of score. Keep it under 35 in the half and we'll lose by 50 instead of 78 this time.
Name it then. Watch the 2016 game and show me one play/series where Michigan was overly aggressive in the 2nd half given the scenario. Or 2015 or 2017 for that matter.ummm....... i guess we define "running it up" differently, then........
That's not running up the score. If you can't stop their backups from running it down their throat then that's on you. They shouldn't let up but they do put in backups and run the ball and eat clock against us when they've won.. We just still don't stop it. They aren't supposed to kneel it.If Michigan doesn't run it up on you, it'll be the first time they haven't done so in a long time when they've gotten the chance. And that predates Harbaugh. Sometimes they don't put up huge point totals because they're usually a run-first team, but they're not about to take the pedal off the metal. Bombing it up and down the field is not their style. Harbaugh knows the playoff selection is a beauty contest, and I'll be very surprised if he isn't look to grab all the points he can Saturday.
Last year only lost 35-14 and it was Away and we were in it almost the whole first half.

Ty Isaac and Karan Higdon were 3rd stringers? The 2016 2nd half featured 2nd and 3rd string players running it up the middle almost continually.
Which one? Or both.Their QB situation last year was vastly different than this year.
Ty Isaac and Karan Higdon were 3rd stringers?
One game, early in the season, does not trump overall body of work. We know this from the past. Of course Notre Dinero gets special consideration. Two overwhelming stats in Notre Dinero’s favor is that they are the all-time leader in count of mentions in obituaries and victories over service academies.Records matter. So until/unless they lose, ND deserves to be ranked ahead of Michigan.

Does it really matter if he beats Rutgers 42-0 or 78-0? It’s not like the voters don’t know what Rutgers is this year, so once you’re up by 6 TDs the margin of victory is kinda irrelevant after thatIf Michigan doesn't run it up on you, it'll be the first time they haven't done so in a long time when they've gotten the chance.
