DeChambeau is a mess?? Dude won 2 of the 4 FedEx Cup playoffs.

Bus, have you taken a look at the course? Better bring your "A" game off the tee. Lots of water early and late with high grass and mounds right off the fairway everywhere.

I think everyone beat Phil by 14 strokes. Not sure what he was doing.

Let's just hope these guys come to play in France. With Woods in form, that's one. Most of the other guys seem to be playing ok, with DJ probably bringing in the most momentum. He finished strong.

Can't say the Euro's are bringing in a lot of momentum either though. Rose obiously as the number 1 ranked golfer should be fine, but after that, it looks like a crapshoot. Rory played as bad as I've see him yesterday. Not the round to crap the bed.

He finished as the 13th player in the world and 8th in top ten finishes and everyone above him played in more tournaments. Cali is Cali and not worth the time to argue, but I'm surprised to see another poster actually trying to pretend he's just another golfer at this point. Justin Rose doesn't get a lucky bounce on 18 and Tiger also wins the Fedex cup. I mean come on already. It's over. He's one of the best in the world again. Just needs to stay healthy. But keep hating if it helps you sleep.

Well said. Cali is simply a troll, but @AreYouNUTS is not and I'm also surprised he's being so negative on Tiger. This was not a "typical" tournament - it's the top 30 players in the world and he almost won the overall Cup, as you noted.

Tiger is absolutely back and in the top 5 again, whether or not the rankings say it - in fact, I'll take the oddsmakers over the rankings and I guarantee you that if he's healthy next year and still playing well, he'll be the oddsmakers' favorite in the majors. Doesn't mean he's going to win, but it does mean he'll be the biggest favorite to win.

Did you see him yesterday? He was a disaster.
So you want to replace a 3 time winner in 2018, a 2 time winner in the last 4 weeks with a guy that has won nothing this year??
Some of your statements go way past sanity. He still ended the season 3rd in FedEx. But you think it is smart to replace #3 with #15. Gotcha. [eyeroll]

Golf is a momentum head game. From what I saw from DeChambeau he was losing it. Let's hope he can get it together. This format is completely different.

I find you to be troll, so the feeling is mutual. Except when you talk about your big Melody reunions. That's the real you.

And you still won't be straight up. #noted

And what makes you think that Xander would be better? What great pressure Sunday round victory did he have this year??
I love your consistency at times. You make bold, stupid statements with no facts to back it up and when challenged dig a deeper hole. Bryson has earned his spot. Was #9 in US Ryder Cup points, next guy up and than wins back to back on the biggest stage and you want him off the team.
Brilliant.

He was a mess first two days but had a great weekend. He outplayed Xander on Sunday by 2 strokes and was in contention to win the 10mm prize befor he got wet on15th. He birdied 5 out of 6 holes (9 - 14) before the 15th.

Well you're alone on this one, as most people think you're a troll and almost nobody would say I am (some may not like my posts, but they're not troll-like).

Bad typo on your last sentence. Noted, lol.

Note all you want. You still won't bet. Let me give you a little advice because you clearly weren't taught this simple concept. Don't go through life being so concerned about what others think of you. It's a simple concept. Try and learn it.

But you are a troll...you or a wannbe. You just aren't good at it.

I go back and forth about whether Numbers is a troll. However, one thing is sure, he is an attention ho. Cut from the same cloth as Rutgersal.

Shell of wherever he once was. Too many younger, better players who hit the ball further than he ever did.

The game has changed since he changed it.

A 100% healthy Tiger now won't be able to compete consistently on tour any more. It's the next generations tour now.

Sure it does. That list is long and distinguished.

The one thing he had that intimidated other golfers and made them try shots they wouldn't normally was his length and clutch putting. Plenty of guys hit it further than him now and guys like Jordan Speith are just as clutch.

A healthy Tiger is a mid tier golfer now. He will make cuts, but not seriously contend. Certainly not over a 4 day period or season.

He had a great run, but it's over.

Agree. I don't think we'll ever see the Tiger from the early 2000s, but IF (and this is huge hypoethetical) he were to be 100% healthy, there's no doubt in my mind that he'd be back in the top 5 and winning a few tourneys including a couple more majors. It wasn't all about strength - people forget how goddamned good his short game was, as well as his imagination and course management.

He is older. Less skilled. Probably coming to the realization that he is happy to be out there, but knows he can't truly be competitive or close to what he once was.

If he can make some cuts in majors, compete here and there for a day or two, he's reached his Everest in my opinion. Maybe even win a small tourney if he is willing to bite the bullet.

Or join the Senior tour at first chance and get on with trying to best the old cats.

So you don't actually believe what you've been saying. Got it.

Actually he didn't exceed anything. My prediction was he would never win a major. He hasn't. I said he might compete in and even win a small tournament. He hasn't won one and has been marginally competitive. If anything, I gave him too much credit.

He's not back. Never was back. And never will be back. +9 as I type, T56. 17 strokes off the lead and well below the cut line.

Tiger is done. Just another guy. Dudes should pay me now.

Well, this is one thread that absolutely had to be bumped - selected a few of Cali's most ridiculous posts to share. Most of us knew a healthy Tiger would be competitive and likely win one or more majors again. Cali - time to own up to being the Mayor of Wrongovia (to quote the most famous post on these boards ever, by @willisneverrana43). Simply amazing performance by Tiger this week. He's back. Now the question is whether his body can hold up long enough to catch Jack. Pretty sure he's going to come close.

He’s already close.

Cali wasn’t the only one who thought Tiger would never win another major.

What can you say but kudos to him. It wasn’t long ago that the guy was a hot mess getting pulled over in the wee hours of the morning whacked out on prescription meds. He’s obviously put a lot of work in and deserves his success. It’s been a long road back for Tiger.

Just awesome. Happened exactly how I said. First year he would get his feet wet and maybe win. Second year it was on. Cali of course couldn’t have been more wrong. Tiger is still the best golfer on the planet. Health still holds him back a little. That just shows you though that in his prime he would have dominated these guys the same way.

Yeah, but nobody else was such a d-bag about it. And most were factoring in Tiger not getting totally healthy. The not ever winning a major again was always a fair argument, but Cali kept insisting a healthy Tiger wouldn't be competitive which was always nonsense.

Tiger definitely back. He, of all golfers, gets more assistance from the gallery than the rest of the field. When he is at or near the lead, the crowd helps unnerve the other contenders. Koepke should've holed those putts on 17 & 18, but the aura wouldn't let him.

Not really a Tiger fan, but he did have some major surgeries that affected his game that he had to overcome so I must give him all the credit in the world for regaining the skill it took to win this year's Masters.
As for the Golf game itself ( my opinion) : a competitive Tiger winning some majors will be a major boon to having more TV viewership and more people getting interested enough in golf to take up the game

Does Tiger have new PED’s that are better than the old ones? j/k

Great Masters performance by Tiger outlasting the worlds best players this weekend.

Even though he has not regained his old putting touch, he now is a threat to win every tournament he enters. Never thought I’d say that again.

Win percentage with 54-hole lead/co-lead on PGA Tour:
Tour average (last 5 seasons): 33%
Jack Nicklaus: 60%
Tiger Woods: 93% (54-for-58)

Never underestimate the Big Cat...dude is a killer. There's a lot that would need to go right with his health, the surgery would have to hold up to the practice required and it doesn't seem logical that it could. But if he somehow catches a break and that surgery holds...he will win many more times. Golfing genius doesn't evaporate.
Indeed, true golfing genius doesn't evaporate.

He gamed that whole tournament. Won without even putting well. Rode behind the leaders for three days and only got the lead to himself on the 15th hole and then promptly slammed a dagger into the entire field with a near hole in one on 16.

The best closer of major tournaments who ever lived. Still has it. Will win another major this year, maybe two.

He's back.
