I love seeing the big boys like Texas struggle. Maryland is dominating.

So does UMd having a good season help their suspended coach keep his job?

Texas had a 15 yard punt from their 5 yard line. One play later, Maryland up 24-7.

Well Texas with some life on that last drive. 24-14 Maryland.

EDIT: Safety Texas, 24-16. Canada's beloved jet sweep at the goal line bites them in the ***.

Texas up 29-24 now after Maryland failed on a short 4th down conversion around their own 35 or so. I didn't like that call by Canada. Around mid field preferably on their side would make more sense.

Give me a break...weather delay. It's not even raining. I looked at the radar and most of the heavy stuff is to the south of DC no where near College Park

I love dumb thread titles begun WAYYYYY too early in games lol!

At the point the thread was started what part of it was wrong? I didn’t predict they would win. Even now is Texas underperforming based on their talent. The #21 team in the country should not be still fighting it out with a team that arguably should be looking for a new head coach.

I kind of agree with Wanny with regards to Texas not just now but over the last handful of years. They get their pick of recruits etc...but they don't seem explosive in general. I don't get that from other teams that recruit the region like OU, TCU, Baylor, Ok State that have all had their share of explosive/potent teams. Not sure what it is though. It's only Herman's 2nd year so we'll see if that changes in his tenure.

I never have a problem with anyone starting a thread with whatever saying such and such is beating the hell out of such and such. That's exactly what is happening at the time, it doesn't mean what the end of the game will be. I usually just start generic titles with the 2 teams playing because I'm boring (see my screen name) lol but whatever it doesn't matter. People see it as a jinks when the momentum turns, I just see it as a real time snap shot that someone posted.

Yeah, I have to agree. This is so new to sports (for an old guy like me, anyway). Somebody educate me -- is there really a meaningful risk here? Any history to it? I guess I'm a neanderthal after all...

About the game -- I'm a bit nervous about winning it even though we took the punch and went back on top just now. Ever since Texas went down 7-24 they've been playing like shot out of a cannon...

I think if there's a lightning strike with in such and such radius of the stadium they automatically have to wait like 30-45 minutes without one before restart. If another one happens the clock gets reset. I think there's a storm in the vicinity so that's the problem.

The OSU/Oregon State game had an hour plus delay as well.

Heading in to sling water ice, guess I'll be the guy walking on the boardwalk staring at my phone on the walk in. Labor Day Weekend!
