True story...my highlight from marshalling the U.S. Open was holding the ropes up for Ricky Fowler's fiancée to cross a security path. I got in trouble because I didn't ask for her credentials, but it was a small price to pay.....

I seemed to nail this Tiger Woods comeback pretty well. You as recently as Saturday were referring to him as a 30'ish player. Who do you think among that group up there is capable of his Sunday performance? Kuchar? Kyle Stanley?

And who goes to a golf tournament for four days? I'll visit Shinnecock in September for the fourth time in a year...as a player. Golf's best viewed on TV. But what's the point, you were there and what? People cheered when he duck hooked it left into the stands on his way up 18? Did he at least have the courtesy of raising his arms in the air and ACTING like he cared? Or did he putt out before his playing partner, tip his cap to the crowd, give his Mom a cold hug and go put the golf media to sleep for an hour, like he did yesterday?

I stand by my reference. He's had a great two months, and he's going to be ranked in the 20's after Sunday. He played like crap at Shinnecock. Are you going to ejaculate as much explaining 38 year old Adam Scott's run?

I was marshalling the Open....good for you if you get on that often....I highly doubt it, but if that's your humblebrag, have at it. The cheers were real at Shinnecock, two days after Tiger had exited.

It WAS Jeff Sluman! I guess I was mistaken re: his career performance.

Hell of a nice guy.

Cool. Hate when I can't remember something like that and it sucks that it happens more now than when I was younger. But then I quickly forget that I couldn't remember something and then everything's ok until the next time I remember I forgot something, lol.

Anyway, I always liked Sluman on TV and in interviews and remember him winning that major in 1988. He's #84 in all-time PGA Tour winnings (~$18MM), which ain't bad. Of course, winnings are a huge function of when you played. Nicklaus is #283 ($5MM or so) and Norman is #121 (~$14MM), even though they were the most dominant golfers of their eras. Post-Tiger, the money just went way up and Sluman was still competitive into the mid-2000s, while Norman mostly stopped playing in the late 90s, due to injuries and his focus on his businesses.

You’re the one whose obsessed with Koepka’s body (a little creepy that you are, if you asked me).

Odds on a tournament eight months away...lols. What were his odds two months ago? What might his odds be in two months?

I’m not taking anything away from Tiger. He had a great tournament...but he’s not the #2 golfer in the world right now.

Molinari and Woods finished -18 & -19 respectively in the last two majors. Except Molinari won The Open and Tiger won neither. Tigers not even the best golfer in Italy right now!

If it wasn’t for Tiger the young guys would be playing for a fraction of the purses they currently get and it’s all because of Tiger. And they know it.
Plus the young guys , including Koepka, like Tiger so much there are now about 150 of them living by or near his home in Jupiter . They all often hang out at his restaurant The Woods on the water in Jupiter. A very nice place for those visiting the area.

They all like Tiger now because they know he’s done. And they thank him for the large purses. I didn’t realize being popular won golf tournaments. You think they live in Jupiter because Tiger lives there? Now Jack would make more sense. Tiger only moved there after his troubles. Golfers lived in that area long before Tiger.

i didn’t realize Tiger won on Sunday. Every week it will be another young gun beating him. I will say I was surprised to see Tiger crying in the post round interview. That was different. Between the wild tee shots and that interview, I think he’s lost the mental edge he used to have. Looks like he’s just happy to compete. That’s cool.

Tiger's 5-1 odds by London bookmakers to win a major next year. Here's a list of players who have better odds:

DJ, Spieth, Koepka, McIlroy.Top five golfer, indeed.
I think he's going to win one of the WGC events. He busted through his ceiling on Sunday. He believes now and that's all that really matters in golf.
