That seems so odd to me. I actually like it. Golf clothes are plenty comfortable. Performance stuff from VV is great.
I got married at For state in 2013. When I used my free round, they required pants. Maybe they've changed it since?I don't know any private courses today that require pants. Only the PGA and the professional Majors do. You can wear shorts in all USGA amateur events.
I can’t imagine wearing cargo shorts on the golf course. I see guy wearing those and they get swamp. Not a good look.Agree. The latest tech material golf shirts, shorts and outerwear are far superior to what was available 5-10 years ago. The new materials will stretch with your body swing movements, are water/wind/waterproof available and look good as well.
Or you can wear cargo shorts and a tee shirt, if not a wife beater shirt to relax in during your round of golf. It’s clearly a personal choice IMO. I’m not against the tee shirt guys on the golf course. As long as we aren’t playing the same course at the same time. Hopefully Security has turned them away at the entry gate, ha!
Any chance that the tee shirt guys are the snooty ones?

PS - Played Metuchen CC a few times in the 80’s and liked the course a lot. Loved the short 19th hole they setup of 50 yards to settle 18 hole bets of the members. Have never seen that anywhere. Lots of construction company owners at Metuchen. Similar to Bamm Hollow in many ways IMO. May BH RIP. Good times w good guys there.

Conversely, if argue the absence of a collar is the silliest reason to exclude someone from a sport...that should be reserved for things like race and gender. He must not really like golf. I have to wear a collar... the silliest reason I've ever heard of to not do something you supposedly enjoy. Can't imagine the courses he plays.
Ive been playing a charity round for Autism for over 20 years. Have played with a member just as long. The club itself has never required it. Your phone auto correct maid it For State. Im assuming you mean ForesgateI got married at For state in 2013. When I used my free round, they required pants. Maybe they've changed it since?
Golf shirts are much more comfortable than a tight tshirt. Don't understand why anyone would hate a loose golf shirt.Silly. Anyone can put on a collar. It's a simple gesture of protocol and appropriateness. If my club made cargo shorts and and tee shirts acceptable, the membership would dwindle to zero in a week. Being appropriate is a good thing. Thankfully, many people agree.
Are you a member of a club where they allow such attire? You see guys golfing in jeans?
When you shoot a 100 does it matter what shirt you wear?Mine aren't loose. I hate swinging a club with loose material. They are fitted. And very comfortable. They have collars too! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I had some sweet *** plaid pants in the late 70s early 80s. I think is was look good, feel good.Definitely. I'd probably shoot 110 without it.
Look good play good! Or something like that.
I was in a tournament in June and a foursome all wore similar outfits. They looked good.Got to get back to the Payne Stewart look, Paul:

I think most golfer will not go back to that as respect to Payne. Rickey wore knickers last year in tribute to Payne but I don't see it coming.Got to get back to the Payne Stewart look, Paul:

You call it protocol and appropriateness. I call it snooty white guys making themselves feel rich and important.Silly. Anyone can put on a collar. Racist? Like against whites? Cause I'm white.Tells me you aren’t around it to even know. Racist too.
The funny thing about Cali calling you a racist is that the only guy he hates on the PGA happens to be black. HmmmRacist? Like against whites? Cause I'm white.
So? Odd you’d bring up race. You andRacist? Like against whites? Cause I'm white.
Are you saying golf isn't a traditionally white, upper class game? Is that really the way you're going? So? Odd you’d bring up race. You and
Felon share a lot in common.
Miss Bamm Hollow. Everytime I drive down the parkway I still see in my kind the layout of the fairways greens and the boxesAgree. This post is super confusing. People flying in comfort contributes to the decline of society? I think this thread just jumped the shark. What normal workplace doesn’t require collars on shirts? Years ago people used to wear nice clothes to ballgames, church and on airplanes. On airplanes now I see people wearing pajamas. It’s been a steady decline that mimics society. Whatever happened to the expression of dress for the role you want? You don’t need to wear a suit to look good.
That's because it's obvious he's close to winning so some people needed to divert the conversation. There is pretty close to no mention of Tiger Woods in this thread. Mostly pants and tee shirts. Gross.
Not a fan of Daly's wild pants. But white pants and belts are back in style. Plaid golf pants will be next. Just a matter of time.
Jacklin was more a sweater than a tee shirt type. Doug Sanders and Ray Floyd were more turtleneck shirts/sweatersIt seems to me collarless shirts are not new. I remember them being popular on tour for a while in the early 60's. Doug Sanders, Tony Lema, and Tony Jacklin come to mind.

I wish they would raise prices on airline tickets. The riff raff is making a non pleasant experience even worse. First class isn’t even what it was pretty recently.
