Oh really? I thought it was Penn State. You guys should work on getting your story straight.

The reason we're getting crappy game times is because RU has played like crap for three straight years. Our attendance is down and so, one must assume, are our TV ratings. The solution is to demand more wins from our head coach, who says the goal this year is a bowl. Let's hold him to that.

Keep in mind that from a fan's perspective, 3 of these 5 games are road games, so, who cares.
The Texas State game is against a no name opponent so you can't expect that to be anything but noon and Northwestern is homecoming and I believe most B1G homecoming games are noon starts. And Kansas is an OOC game and the Bog Twelve decides the game time.
My point is that I do not think our sub par play the past few years has as much to do with this as you think.

Dude, you are seriously onto something! They could do 5AM, 8:30AM, Noon, 3:30PM, 7PM and 10:30PM games. Big 10 games all day long!

Heh-heh. I was thinking more like 11 am to 11 pm. But if I can party all night on Friday, I'd be up for attending the 5:30 a.m. game. We'll have a rooster crow from on top of the goal posts right before the kick-off.

Yes I have, I'm just not whining about it. It's New Jersey in September, not Georgia, Alabama, or Florida.
Dude you have to be friggin kidding me. The Sept 10th 2016 game against Howard a noon start got to a high of 94 degrees and humid as hell. It got so hot they ran out of water for patrons. Try sitting on the home side, in the friggin sun, on a 94 degree humid day with you're *** on a metal bleacher. You'll feel just like you're in Georgia, Alabama or on the cusp of Hell. You would know this if you attended the games. Hell everyone here who attended that game remembers it for the heat alone.

Funny story about that game. All my season ticket group fled for the concourse. Me being the tough guy said, "I work in this sh*t everyday I'm staying". Well we decided to leave the blood bath at the end of 3rd quarter. As I went to stand up my legs buckled and began to feel woozy. I yelled to my wife, "Hey I think your husband has early stages of heat exhaustion get me some water". She yelled back, "I told you to get out of the sun jackass. O and you're sh*t out of luck on the water they ran out".

I don't remember this at all. I'm pretty sure I died in Section 116 midway through the 3rd quarter.

We were in the party deck for that game. We were not inside--at least we were not in the blistering hot sun. The consolation was that we had plenty of water. In fact, we had way too much water up there.

This is the actual reason and the most reasonable response, which of course is why everyone is skipping over it ;)

I never disputed anything about how hot it was that particular day. What I’m saying is that noon games are played everywhere, especially by bad teams, and it’s not like New Jersey is Florida, Alabama or Georgia. No amount of whining will change the fact that most of our games will be at noon. You wanted Big Ten football? This is Big Ten football.

So in a nutshell, you are whining about people whining?

I was at the Labor Day game vs Fresno in 2008 - sat in the sun across from RU team. I fried like an egg. Game was awful to boot lol
That was a 4 p.m. kickoff. So it really doesn’t matter what time these games start unless they’re in primetime, which obviously isn’t happening for a bottom-tier Big Ten team. And again, just be thankful we’re not a southern team or we'd be dealing with heat/humidity that's FAR worse.

It might be worth an email to Hobbs to remind him that we need to have a ton more water on hand to prevent this repeat from happening. Perhaps, if we all did it might get something positive done than all this sniping. This is a suggestion to everyone, not just you Leonard.

Email is needed ?
You would think that common sense would suggest that 95 degree weather with Fans sitting on Aluminum seats that the RU Athletic Administration ( run by Hobbs) would have sufficient water on hand to $ell. Wait it’s Rutgers.

5AM kickoff might be pretty cool though. Start tailgating Friday night!
We would still get screwed and probably still get mostly noon games under this format.

I was posting about the sunny side of the stadium. I was in stadium at 2.30. The sun side was baking a long time (3-4 is hotter than 12) while opposite side was starting to have shade. If people have to go to a hot summer game the side of the stadium can make a difference. You can be staring to cool (relatively) on one side while getting a super bake on the other lol

The noon games in early September have been pretty brutal heat wise. Anyone saying otherwise is full of it.
It's nothing compared to the south. And again, what exactly do you and others want done about this? The Big Ten isn't going to make scheduling concessions to an awful program (right now) that gets low ratings. They will slot us in whatever TV time is best for the conference, which is usually noon. We're all going to just have to deal with this until Ash or another coach turns this program around.

Are you seriously suggesting that without fan emails that the Athletic Department won't know that it will be hot for a Sept 1 noon game?

How many times have you heard that they've run out of water during a game in September? It's been more than a few since I've been on this board, and that's been awhile. So the answer is yes.

OK if that's the case what does and I quote, " It's September in New Jersey" have to do with good teams, bad teams, teams in the B1G or teams in the SEC? What does a date have to do with a game start time. It could be October or November? You're attempting to back track from your original statement.

And too boot we're now forbidden from taking in any beverages this year. That policy wasn't in effect in 2016. We're all going to die leaving this decision of hydration up to Rutgers. Basically we're all screwed.;)

Or they could just let people bring their own water in like you can at places like Citizens Bank Park and Yankee Stadium. I'll still get water in, I'll just be able to get a lot more in if I don't have to hide it.

I hate this point you are trying to make and how so many people make the same mistake. 90 degrees and 80+ humidity is exactly the same everywhere.

@BigTenRutgers you be wrong. times are out and no one has noon games.

LSU has zero noon games scheduled so far http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-18/2018-lsu-tigers-football-schedule.php

Georgia has zero noon games schedule so far http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-18/2018-georgia-bulldogs-football-schedule.php

ditto Bama

http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-18/2018-alabama-crimson-tide-football-schedule.php

and Florida doesn't even have to wake up before noon for any of their games . 3:30 is the earliest game they have scheduled so far
http://www.fbschedules.com/ncaa-18/2018-florida-gators-football-schedule.php

Mrs. Screw...you have to stop pulling this crap please...

BTW- didn't copy it but see that BTR moved the goalpost in a later response...

Dude 90+ degrees and humid in New Jersey is just as hot as 90 + degrees in the South. That's silly. Notice how you backed off. Now its football in the south because SEC hardly ever starts at noon.

I don’t know about you but I should be an enterprising prick and sell bottled water outside the gate for $10 a pop as people leave in anticipation of the water shortage. Capitalism, yeah! [roll]

Some schools in hotter climates playing noon openers:

Maryland
South Carolina
Oklahoma
Texas Tech
TCU
Clemson
Georgia Tech

If they can handle it, so can we. Stop whining.

Actually no mine was a comment, I did not pass judgment positvely or negatively on your annoying actions...wait I just did.
That's okay, I just proved everyone wrong with facts anyway. Plenty of schools in much hotter climates are playing noon games to start the season. We have nothing to complain about.
