When I was a kid, my grandparents would take me to the bay for the summer. I am trying to figure out what bay this was. The only thing I can really remember was an old metal school yard slide being in the water. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Thanks for the help.

I'm guessing Keansburg.
Second guess would be Lavallette (lots of parks on the bay with playsets):

That's why I am giving Lavallette as a second guess. Obviously, it would not be there now. But they have/had parks right on the bay.
The other guess, Keansburg, was purely based on proximity to Elizabeth.
It was during the mid 80s, and I remember feeling the cement footing with my feet. There were little one story bungalows we stayed in. I remember the walls didn’t go to the ceiling. Another stupid memory was the curbs outside were not the normal curbs we have today, but instead the were sloped making it easy to drive up.
Sounds like Silver Beach/Lavalette area. Lots of little bungalows as well as parks right on the bay beaches. I can't imagine a metal slide lasting more than a couple years if it was sitting in the bay though. That salt water eats metal for lunch.

I learned to swim at the bay in Lavallette. "Swimming lessons" consisted of one person on the dock, 1 person in the water. The person on the dock would throw you in the water. The person in the water would prevent you from drowning. The rest was up to you. Very effective, you learn real quick to swim in your own. I think I went just twice. From there I was good.

Late '60s/early '70s my family would vacation every year in the Ocean Beach section of Lavallette. My grandmother would take me and my sisters to the bay while the adults would go to the beach. I don't remember a slide in the water, but it's possible. I remember there being a clubhouse where we played ping pong and shuffleboard.
IIRC Ocean Beach 3 had the clubhouse. May still have it. Ocean Beach is actually part of Dover Township, aka Toms River.
Back when I was growing up on Ortley Ave the three blocks to the North were called North Lavallette and it was part of Dover Township as well. Which explains why the boardwalk stops at Ortley Ave.
I remember my aunt and uncle saying they lived in North Lavallette (Sterling Ave).
